Walt Disney Imagineering has filed three new Notices of Commencement tied to Rock 'n' Roller Coaster at Disney's Hollywood Studios, as momentum builds for the attraction's transformation into Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
The new filings are assigned to Elite A/V System Inc, Solotech, and Sign Producers Inc - all companies with experience in show systems, entertainment technology, and themed installations.
Two of the permits, for Elite A/V System Inc and Solotech, list the scope of work as Electrical Work. Both companies are known for their involvement in advanced audio, video, lighting, and show control systems.
The third permit, assigned to Sign Producers Inc, is specifically for "Install Signage." This likely points to new exterior or interior themed signage related to the upcoming Muppets version of the ride.
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith will permanently close on March 2, 2026, with March 1 serving as the final day of operation. The new Muppets version is scheduled to open in summer 2026, leaving only a few months for heavy construction and installation work.
