Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets officially opened to all guests today at Disney's Hollywood Studios as part of the Memorial Day weekend launch. Large crowds have descended on Sunset Boulevard for the public debut, with wait times already at two hours as of 8:00 am.
The queue has extended well beyond the attraction's normal boundaries into a backstage area behind Tower of Terror.
Demand on opening day has pushed the standby queue into territory guests would not normally see. After passing through the courtyard, guests are directed behind Tower of Terror into a backstage area, through a large temporary outdoor queue space, before heading back into the courtyard where the line wraps around in front of the Stratocaster guitar.
The outdoor temporary queue runs through an area guests typically never access, with Tower of Terror looming over the crowd.
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster is one of several major openings at Disney World today, alongside Soarin' Across America at EPCOT, Bluey's Wild World at Animal Kingdom, Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, and The Walt Disney Studios courtyard at Hollywood Studios.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass Available
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is available today via both standby queue and Lightning Lane Multi Pass. Guests looking to avoid the extended backstage queue may want to check Lightning Lane availability through the My Disney Experience app, though return times are likely filling quickly given overall demand.
