First Look Inside Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Queue Area
Posted: Tuesday April 21, 2026 5:57pm ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Disney has shared the first look inside the updated queue for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.

A new Walt Disney Imagineering video shows Associate Set Decorator Ben Conway adding Muppet props to the queue area just before the boarding area.

The space previously featured construction signs and cones during the transformation but now showcases colorful Muppet-themed details ahead of the May 26, 2026, opening.

Muppet Props Throughout Queue

The video reveals several Muppet props being placed throughout the queue:

  • A vintage camera
  • "The Great Gonzo" banner hanging on a clothesline alongside flags
  • A wooden crate labeled "The Great Gonzo Weird Stuff"
  • Various Muppet memorabilia and equipment scattered throughout the space

The props create the atmosphere of G-Force Records now under Muppet management, with the band's personality visible throughout the queue experience.

Possible MuppetVision 3D Connection

Some items appear similar to props from the MuppetVision 3D preshow area, though this has not been confirmed.

Five Weeks Until Opening

With Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opening May 26, Disney has approximately five weeks to complete all theming, testing, and preparation.

Previews for cast members, eligible Disney Vacation Club Members, and Annual Passholders will be announced before the public opening.

If it isn’t the old guys, I’d take Gonzo somewhere like Groot in MB.

How dare he try to get Big Bird cooked and eaten. I don't know what Camilla saw in that turkey.

I think they’re treating this as a new attraction, whereas they did not treat BTMRR that way. And I’d say they’re right in that assessment. This will be a fundamentally different experience, BTMRR was not. That said, I do not expect this VQ to last long. A week at most.

but was closed for much longer.. and is more popular overall. And even BTMRR waits easily eased once the initial surge was over..

I don’t see that as odd, really. BTMRR didn’t go through nearly as much of a change as this did.

wouldn't that be odd if they used VQ here while they opened BTMRR without? I guess ride density differences between the parks.. but..

There appears to be a Virtual Queue ready in MDE's data feed for Muppets RnRC.

The roller coaster cars all line up next to each other at the end like Ellen's Energy Adventure, and we're finally treated to the 45-minute concert we were promised!

That turkey got off way too easy, if you ask me.

The whole ride is spent following Kermit on the back of a fire truck.
