Final Look at Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Before Previews Begin - May 12 2026
Posted: Tuesday May 19, 2026 6:47am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

The virtual queue for the Annual Passholder previews of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets is now visible in the My Disney Experience app ahead of the first preview date on May 21. The queue is not yet active but is showing with full instructions for how to join.

Previews begin in two days, with the first virtual queue distribution opening at 7:00 am on May 21.

The My Disney Experience app currently displays the virtual queue listing under Disney's Hollywood Studios attractions with the message "This virtual queue is not currently in use." Full instructions are shown confirming the three daily distribution times across the May 21-23 preview period.

How to Join the Virtual Queue

The app confirms three daily distribution opportunities:

7:00 am Distribution

  • Valid Annual Pass required
  • Theme park reservation for Hollywood Studios required where applicable
  • Note: Hollywood Studios reservations for May 21 and 22 are at capacity. May 23 remains available.

11:00 am Distribution

  • Valid Annual Pass required
  • Park reservation to any theme park required
  • Must enter reserved park before visiting Hollywood Studios

3:00 pm Distribution

  • Valid Annual Pass required
  • No park reservation required
  • No park entry required to join the virtual queue

Important Reminders

The app confirms that Passholders do not need to be inside a theme park when they request to join the virtual queue at any of the three distribution times.

Virtual queues and park reservations are limited and subject to availability. Joining a virtual queue does not guarantee entrance to the experience. Guests may only enter a virtual queue once per day for each experience.

Two Days Until Previews

With the virtual queue now visible in the app, Passholders should ensure their My Disney Experience account is set up and linked to their Annual Pass ahead of the 7:00 am distribution on May 21.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets Passholder previews run May 21-23. DVC Member priority access follows on May 24, with the public opening on May 26, 2026.

It might improve GSRs if they nixed (or moved) the single rider queue to allow for spacing out the non-single-rider guests between the two levels of Studio C. Fingers crossed they seriously consider something like this during the next ops review.

It didn't have as many issues because of the distance and position of the screen. This has many things that have now become foreground that are major parts of the experience as the new preshow is more dynamic. Such as the physical figures and the height of the screens that interact with each other, obviously the low positioning of the penguins at the soundboard as well. Scooter's B mode screen is actually one of the worst offenders. It could and should have easily have been on a wall behind him at about the same height or higher. You have more visibility to a rectangular screen that is far away.

And I feel previous iteration would have same issues under that criteria. 4’ and you need to be front row.

Thanks for your take. Both things can certainly be true. Objectionably not designed well for anyone 4 foot tall or a guest with chair standards

Rode this twice today and did not have any trouble seeing at all, I’m all of 5’7”. While I don’t doubt if you are pinned at the back of the room you might miss a bit, I think the viewing problems have been greatly exaggerated - I was expecting much worse from reading reviews here. I was one of the last ones in the room on the first trip and one of the early ones on 2nd ride.

Yes, the original had one screen to a mixing table with a door open to a back alleyway that everyone could notice with how far back it is. There were no monitors or effects or characters in foreground. So reasonably most could see what was designed to be seen. This redo of the space has fun effects and new media on various screen heights that very few can see all of by comparison. There would have been some simple design choices where this would be improved. The single rider line definitely has hurt this aspect over the years as the platform was designed to be another level.

Apologies! For some reason I didn’t see the second part of your post.

I was asking in regard to the sightlines in the preshow, not the difference in the attractions as a whole.

The grey paint and the muppet props and characters cover up what a complete failure this ride has always been from a theming standpoint plus the soundtrack is better.

Make that a super-stretch. I’m sorry. I’ll show myself out.

It's not a direct, point by point comparison. The comparison is in the inherent difficulties in retrofitting one IP into a place that it wasn't designed for. Imaginears get faced with working things into sightlines, design constraints, pacing etc., that are a part of the original ride.

Comparing this to Tiana feels like a stretch

I would say that part of the problem is that now they have added things that you are supposed to see, but many cannot see. Particularly tough for children. This is part of the reason that I say that the Aerosmith version though having less, just worked. Like Tiana's this is one of the issues when you try to retrofit an IP that the ride system wasn't designed for from the outset.

I'm not tall at all-- about 5' 7".. I think.. -- I was standing towards the back and with a little maneuvering of my head side to side through the sea of people I was able to see what was going on. I'm not giving an excuse, I wish it was done differently somehow, but the people saying it's impossible to see from the back are being a bit dramatic. Now, if you're a kid in the back, you will never will be able to see, but I don't think they would have been able to see the previous preshow either.
