Bluey's Wild World Standby Queue Opens to Surprisingly Light Crowds on Day One at Disney's Animal Kingdom

Bluey's Wild World Standby Queue Day One at Disney's Animal Kingdom
Posted: Tuesday June 2, 2026 8:50am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Despite Disney preparing for large crowds, the first morning of the Bluey's Wild World standby queue at Conservation Station saw light turnout and short wait times — a welcome surprise for guests visiting Disney's Animal Kingdom today.

At 8:45am, the wait for Bluey's Wild World was just 5 minutes. The Wildlife Express Train was showing only the time needed for the next departure.

Disney Was Ready for Much Bigger Crowds

The light turnout is surprising given the scale of crowd management infrastructure Disney had put in place. An extensive overflow queue had been marked out with tape extending past Harambe Market and along the walkways toward Asia. A cast member was stationed at the queue entrance holding a "Line Starts Here" pole.

None of it was needed this morning. The first train at 8:20am departed with all the guests in the station, and Bluey's Wild World does not appear to have significantly shifted rope drop priorities for most guests — at least on day one.

How the Queue Works

The Wildlife Express Train entrance opened at park opening, with train boarding beginning around 8:10am and the first departure at 8:20am. A digital display at the station entrance shows two separate wait times — one for the train and one for Bluey's Wild World.

The Wildlife Express Train wait time is visible in My Disney Experience, but Bluey's Wild World wait time is not yet showing in the app. Disney may add this in the coming days.

Train and Bluey are Separate

Boarding the Wildlife Express Train does not commit you to Bluey's Wild World. You can ride to Conservation Station and visit the animal exhibits without joining the Bluey queue.

Today's light crowds suggest that the initial opening surge has passed. With the virtual queue gone and walk-up access now available, rope drop remains your best option for the shortest waits. Disney's overflow queue markings indicate they were prepared for significantly heavier crowds, which we may still see on busier days, so wait times will vary.

Only folding strollers are permitted on the Wildlife Express Train. The station is near Harambe Market in Africa. Bluey's Wild World runs 8:30am to 3:45pm.

My local zoo has a walk through wallaby & red kangaroo exhibit that opened about 15 years ago. Fortunately there hasn’t been any brawls between the Aussies and deranged humans. The only time there’s any rowdiness is when the male Wallaby, Rocket, is in the mood. He likes to try and mate with anyone and anything. But yeah no dukes so far.

The Gene Kelly animatronic is long gone.

While it says they eventually plan for it to be unguided, I'm positive they'll still have staff stationed throughout to make sure guests don't do anything they shouldn't. They have to protect the animals too (more important than protecting the people, really). I'm also guessing it will stay very low capacity. Higher than it is in this test period, but it almost has to be significantly limited in terms of how many people can walk through at a time. Still wouldn't be surprised to see it shut down with how badly behaved some people are at Disney, but who knows.

I’m not used to seeing you have this vibe on here omg But yeah, if it goes to hell in a handbasket, I’ll eat crow as well

They don’t know how to paint a wall people won’t pick the paint off of. Or design queue elements and games people won’t destroy. Is a person who swings from a light pole (which I’ve seen) safe around a kangaroo? I’d love to be pleasantly surprised here. Happy to come back in a year and admit I was wrong if so.

We’ll see but I really struggle to imagine Disney can’t figure out how to prevent this when so many other places already have.

RELEASE THE BABY!!!

Yes, and yet when a poorly supervised child inevitably charges at a kangaroo and gets punched, it’ll make national news. There’s no way this lasts long. Look around WDW. Too many feral people.

They are far from the only place where you can get up close and personal with kangaroos. The zoo in Nashville also lets you go into an enclosure with them and walk right up to them and touch them if they allow. This is an experience that is offered at dozens of zoos around the world.

I actually really wondered if they thought this through when i first heard about it

Sooner or later we're going to hear of a toddler carried of in a kangaroo pouch.

Great insight! The current limited experience actually sounds quite neat!

Apparently Jumpin’ Junction has soft opened. Unclear how many guests have already been punched.
