Walt Disney Imagineering has provided a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern, set to open in late 2025 in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom.

This sneak peek offers a glimpse inside the construction site, which will expand the classic attraction's storyline and immerse guests deeper into the pirate's life.

Construction on the site is well underway, with work taking place near the former Pirates League location and the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop, which has been under refurbishment. More details, including menu offerings and possible entertainment elements, are expected to be revealed in the coming months as the project progresses toward its late 2025 debut.

We’ve been a couple times with an 7 and 11 year old. Loved it every time

Thank you. Very helpful. The 3 year old can be skiddish, so we'll see how dark rides go. Thanks for the advice!

Went when my son was 5 and recently when he was 6. He liked looking around although it was nowhere near the blown away reaction to Space 220, where he lost his mind with excitement and was trying hard to do zero gravity jumps (he and the server had this adorably earnest conversation about how they add gravity to the restaurant. It made me sad you can’t write your own cast compliments in the app anymore, you have to select a pre-selected compliment from a drop-down.) Anyways, maybe he’s just less familiar with the topic of pirates but he seemed to find Beak and Barrel amusing but not enthralling. The animatronics were off on one visit and we really couldn’t see them from where we were sitting on the other, so no guarantees on that. You’re going to have very limited food options for kids other than tortilla chips and maybe the corn cakes, but you said you’re already aware of that. My one word of caution would be to say that it’s dark and a bit spooky, so if they’re going through a phase where they don’t like those things, they might be scared. If they like the Pirates ride, they’ll likely be fine though. Side note for the grown-ups, we thought the service was amazing. A server overheard us talking about our last visit where we thought there was a drink that was uniquely made for the restaurant, but couldn’t quite remember. They weren’t even our server, but they went off to confirm, and told us which drink it was. Again, wish that personalized cast compliments were allowed!

Can that add a request to only waitlist if I can get a seat? No desire to stand for 30-60 minutes….

As it stands right now, the only thing I'd purchase from there (as a returning customer) would be a Treasure Trove, I'd walk the half a mile to the Bar at Steakhouse 71 for any substitute offerings. We have three mugs in spite of the awful contents. The vignettes are a one and done.

It’s an upbeat spot to waste a half hour for kids You’re not going for the food/drinks anyway

Sure…why not? Since there’s tumbleweed blowing down the concourses…let the weeds in 😎

Every so often they do some singing and light flashing, and some loud noises might be much for a one year old. I found it was similar to oga's cantina, just with the pirate thing.

Has anyone gone to it with little kids? I'd love to go, but we'll have a 3 and 1 year old in tow. I know the snack options are limited, but I'm going for the ambiance and Four Square rum.

It seems Disney may be adding a walk-up list availability option for The Beak and Barrel - a new "Join Walk-Up List" button has appeared in the My Disney Experience app: As of now, this error currently happens if you try to use the option:

If you want a true religious experience slam back 2 of the pirate punch's then go see the Country Bears... Henry was talking TO me, Big Al's guitar was in tune, and the whole show was somehow sung in Swahili. But my darling Trixie was looking sweeter than cherry pie... 🥰😍😘

Not me ordering an orange Fanta because I don’t drink. Oh well, I enjoyed the island provisions. My wife like the cookie crumb one. Great atmosphere.
