Walt Disney Imagineering has provided a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern, set to open in late 2025 in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom.

This sneak peek offers a glimpse inside the construction site, which will expand the classic attraction's storyline and immerse guests deeper into the pirate's life.

Construction on the site is well underway, with work taking place near the former Pirates League location and the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop, which has been under refurbishment. More details, including menu offerings and possible entertainment elements, are expected to be revealed in the coming months as the project progresses toward its late 2025 debut.

Well obviously. But from a risk management perspective I don't let any of our sites/operations be videoed while active operations are ongoing, just so that we don't inadvertently provide evidence for OSHA violations, improper workplace maintenance, or ammunition for owners. By videoed i mean for third party distribution not for documenting progress or internal use.

It’s in a caption that her role is Assistant Producer.

...how young people speak. I am ageist not sexist. In my line of work, I encounter many young men with these speech patterns, perhaps even more men than women.

Sorry if I seemed to be contributing to it; that was the opposite of my intention.

I don’t hear that either. She sounds fine to me! It’s strange that such an inoffensive video should have caused such irritation.

love it when we spend time criticizing how young women speak 🙄

Yeah, not too much fry. More uptalk, I suppose.

There was very little of it in the video anyway.

Exactly. Did this person even state her role in the project? Did she say, "producer" anywhere? (I can't stomach another view, myself.)

It amazes how long it takes WDW to do anything. For example the facade in DHS, the broken façade of Keystone Clothiers has been broken since 2022 and covered with green plywood. It seems that they are now trying to fix it maybe. A unverified rumor, the cannons in Rise in Disneyland has finally been fixed and the rumor was that they were waiting YEARS for replacement parts? If this is true, its a terrible design and why were there no spare parts in house? I have worked in manufacturing and building spares was always part of the process. I understand Disney does not want to spend an extra penny when not necessary in their theme park business, but some if what we see is hard to understand.

There’s also just the big problem that the public image of Walt Disney Imagineering is highly romanticized. You go back and watch the interested stuff and it is a lot of the same few people summarizing years of work down to minutes. It’s a punchy highlight real focused on the sexiest aspects of the company. A lot of these videos are trying to highlight roles beyond creative director because a lot more people work on these projects than a lot of other media might have you believe. A big challenge though is that a lot of the day-to-day stuff, even for those sexy roles like creative director, aren’t very interesting. Then they do something like this where they try to make a role like producer more interesting by filming in the field, but it’s not really a field role nor is it a design role so it comes across feeling a bit off.
