Construction barriers go up in the central courtyard of the Morocco Pavilion at EPCOT

Morocco Pavilion central courtyard walled off - May 20 2021

The central courtyard of the Morocco pavilion at EPCOT is now behind rolling construction barriers.

The use of rolling bushes appears to suggest this will be a fairly quick job, possibly a repair to underground utilities. An area of the concrete has been dug up, and work lights are in position for overnight work.

Plastic protective wrapping is covering the front of the Tangierine Cafe.

Guests are still able to reach the back of the pavilion, although the two restaurants in that area remain closed.

Since Disney took over control of the pavilion from the third party operator back in October 2020, numerous cosmetic changes have been made to retail and signage,  along with removing the infamous photo spot. The area restrooms re also currently under refursbishment.

and the front half of the plane that totally was or totally wasn't from the original movie (back half of the plane on Jungle Cruise too?)

Where are those AA’s from TGMR?…that scene would fit right in!

donaldtooSep 06, 2025

In keeping with Disney’s latest roll on bars/lounges, they just need to add… ;)

That’s always been there, there’s a few areas throughout the pavilion where you can hear residents talking to each other. Would love if Disney could figure out what to do with this pavilion, it’s embarrassing at the moment

Sorry for the thread bump. I’m currently at the Morocco pavilion in the Fez House. They’ve added some atmosphere audio of two men having a conversation catching up and some other conversations between people.

It’s the Florida Blue Lounge 😊😉

Marrakesh and the Bazaar need to reopen...Up the theme factor and really make that walk back through the pavilion an event. If anything, Spice Road Table has hurt the pavilion overall by diverting people away from wandering back to the bazaar and Marrakesh...Marrakesh need to be more of a spectacular thing to drive guests to the back....

Nadda. Though it’s kitchen is still fully functioning and used to prep all of spice roads food.

mastromjmSep 12, 2024

Is there any sort of rumbling about Marrakesh?? Had Spice Road today and it was great but just not the same level of quality, certainly not ambience either

They changed the menu though. It is not the same food as they had before. I am sad about this. The chicken shawarma was a must have for me every trip. Believe it or not, not a single restaurant in the city where I live sells it.

They were doing that for a bit but this summer it was open the whole festival gap

I thought Tangerine Cafe was closed between Festivals but I could be wrong.
