New aerial photos taken by bioreconstruct this weekend provide a latest look at construction progress on the upcoming Monstropolis expansion at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The images show continued site development across the entire area formerly home to Muppets Courtyard and the backstage parking lots, with changes visible across both the future coaster site and surrounding themed land.
In the former Muppets Courtyard, all remaining themed signage has now been removed, including from Gonzo's Royal Flush and PizzeRizzo. While the exterior façades remain largely intact, interior work appears to be underway.
Nearby, construction continues at the site of the upcoming Monsters, Inc. flying door coaster. The aerial views show the full coaster footprint, which now includes extensive groundwork, concrete pours, utility installation, and the early placement of ride-related infrastructure. The attraction will feature a vertical lift and suspended ride vehicles, simulating the door vault chase sequence from the original film.
Expect vertical construction and steel coaster track installation to begin soon, following the foundational patterns seen in other recent Disney indoor coasters.
