The first coaster track pieces for the Monsters, Inc. flying door coaster have arrived at Walt Disney World and are now visible from the Disney Skyliner gondola.
The track sections were spotted in the staging area behind EPCOT and shared on Bluesky by @sanremored.bsky.social.
The photo shows curved steel track sections with support spine elements sitting in the outdoor staging area. This is the same location previously used to stage the cylindrical steel support columns that have since been installed vertically at the Monsters, Inc. coaster construction site at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The arrival of track pieces at the staging area is a significant milestone for the project. With the support columns already in the ground and foundation work complete, the coaster is now transitioning to the next phase — getting actual track sections on-site and ready for installation.
The curved profile of the track sections visible in the photo is consistent with a suspended coaster system, where ride vehicles hang beneath the track rather than sitting on top of it. The Monsters, Inc. flying door coaster will be Disney's first suspended coaster, sending guests gliding through the iconic door vault scene from the film.
The Disney Skyliner gondola route passes near the EPCOT staging area, giving guests a sightline to construction materials stored there.
With track now on property and support columns already installed at the construction site, the vertical build phase of the Monsters, Inc. coaster is moving quickly. Steel track installation is likely the next major visible milestone at the Hollywood Studios construction zone.
Disney has not announced an opening date for Monstropolis.
