Disney has released a first look at the mission briefing guests will see before boarding Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, ahead of the attraction's updated experience launching May 22, 2026 at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

The clip is framed as a transmission from the Razor Crest, Mando's ship, and shows Din Djarin holding Grogu as he delivers the briefing directly to your crew.

"Listen up. Crew, our bounties are two Imperial officers and a pirate. Our goal is to capture them and collect any crates they're transporting. Thanks to Hondo's intel, we know they're on Tatooine. Grogu and I will meet you there."

That's it. Mando hands you the mission, and you take the Falcon.

Once the briefing ends, your crew takes control of the Millennium Falcon. For the first time, riders can choose their own destination mid-mission, with Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star above Endor, and Coruscant all available as selectable locations.

Engineers will be able to interact directly with Grogu during the mission, while pilots and gunners see improved controls and responsiveness throughout.

The updated experience runs on Unreal Engine 5 with real-time rendering across all five cockpit projection surfaces, using the same 3D assets pulled directly from Lucasfilm's production library.

The new mission debuts May 22, 2026 at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland — the same day The Mandalorian and Grogu opens in cinemas.

It largely has, relatively.

I just wish they would mine the good stuff not some of the lesser ideas and no, I am obviously not talking about Thrawn.

That has been my feeling since Disney bought the franchise.

It might be time to let Star Wars be silent for a while. Let things quiet down for about ten years and then bring in a team to create another trilogy with clear storylines and seemless direction. Or maybe it is time to just let it go. Star Wars might be played out after nine sequential movies, two or three prequel style movies, an upcoming Mandalorian movie, and several Disney+ series.

I completely agree with you. The Last Jedi was so polarizing, it split the fan base into two. It split Disney/Lucasfilm into two, as well - had two unique story directions with Duel of the Fates (IX v1) vs The Rise of Skywalker (IX v2). They do need to swing big. It's time to announce Episode X, XI and XII. Get the right person and have them outline the trilogy. It can pick up a few years after the ST or after 100 years.

They can’t figure out how to find what’s right with a map and a flashlight… But I am not a fan of mining the EU There is a rather straight forward approach that all the brains haven’t managed to stumble upon at this point

I've become apathetic to new star wars stuff. If it's good, it's a nice surprise. If not, it's just like ...eh, that's about right. Which sucks because even after episode 7 I was like....well, we're just getting started, then 💩, save a few gems like Andor or Rouge One.

An overwhelming amount of the EU stuff was just awful and an adaptation would have been much worse than what we got. Best case would have looked a lot like what Filoni produces, insular fan-service stuff. That said, even though it’s not “canon,” Disney can still mine that material if they want. Star Wars fans are a fascinating contrast to Marvel fans - the MCU doesn’t come close to directly adapting comic stories, dramatically alters main characters, and makes clear that (multiverse aside) nothing in the comics is directly relevant to the films, but you don’t see anything like the same amount of complaining about adaptation and canon and disrespect and what not. (This is particularly striking because there’s a lot more quality content in the decades of comics than in the EU). To revive Star Wars, Disney is going to have to do something that they are scared to do and that will make a lot of online fans screech - they’re going to have to find high quality, established creators and give them artistic freedom. That’s how Andor happened.

Who said that? That’s a filthy lie!!! …anyway. I don’t enjoy that Steven’s secretary killed the careers of those young actors… The only thing worse than having the success of Star Wars stick to you your whole career…it’s having the failure of it stick to you… It really is a Hollywood pattern that is fascinating.

I just think a man of culture like yourself should experience culture.
