Mickey's PhilharMagic Reopens Early After November Refurbishment at Magic Kingdom

Mickey's PhilharMagic has reopened today at Magic Kingdom, several days earlier than the originally listed return date of November 23. The show quietly came back online this morning, and currently has a 5 minute standby wait.

Disney previously announced the 3D musical attraction would be closed starting November 1 for a routine refurbishment. There are no guest-facing changes apparent inside the theater. The experience looks and operates the same as before the closure, with the full show, effects, and theater environment unchanged.

Yes, of course. They need to retain the plot.

I said this probably longer than a decade ago... But i think they should make this like Star Tours and add maybe 15 to 20 more scenes from all sorts of different movies and make it a randomized experience. It would be so good!

This is what we WANT to see! Refurbs SHOULD happen before the ride starts falling into disrepair, as Disney so often loved to do

I would love it if they added a couple more scenes and then did the randomizing. Wish they did that with more of their digital based attractions beyond Star Tours

I believe Scott said they're replacing the seats in the auditorium as one big task. Other than that it's probably just routine work that is not super guest facing but more technical.

I hope they leave well enough alone. The current film has a suitably vintage feel that, even without looking remotely hand-drawn, is appropriate to the films featured.

California Adventure's closed for refurb the other day. Coincidence or possibly show changes?

Animaniac93-98Oct 10, 2025

While that's true, it would be nice if they upgraded the 2003-era CGI of the movie to something more in line with their current movies. Or added new, randomized scenes like Star Tours. Not that I'm expecting this refurb to be about either of those things.

Maybe they found a sponsor (Sirius/XM?) and they need to place their logos throughout the attraction...

We just did PhilharMagic twice last week, and it seemed like it was in top shape. All the scents were queued up correctly, picture was sharp, and the Donald AA was working. Any idea what this refurb might be for?

This one hurts. My 10 year old would definitely put this in her top 3 at MK. We will be there November 16-23 but fly home on the 23rd. We have a MK day scheduled for 11/22 so fingers crossed crossed it opens a day early 🤞🏼
