Vacation Fun – An Original Animated Short with Mickey & Minnie is closing again at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The Mickey Shorts Theater will serve as the pickup location for the next Annual Passholder magnet — and it's Kermit the Frog. The attraction closes August 9, ahead of the distribution period starting August 11 2026.

Operating hours have been removed from August 9 through as far as the calendar currently shows, with Disney confirming the closure is planned through later this year.

This is the third time in under a year the Mickey Shorts Theater has closed to support another event or activation — following closures for Disney Jollywood Nights in late 2025 and the Star Wars May the 4th Merchandise Event earlier this year.

The Kermit the Frog Annual Passholder Magnet

Starting August 11 through September 24, 2026, Annual Passholders get a Muppets-themed lineup of perks at Disney's Hollywood Studios:

Kermit the Frog magnet — available at the Mickey Shorts Theater from park open to park close, while supplies last
Passholder-exclusive PhotoPass Magic Shot
Limited-time milkshake

To pick up the magnet, you'll need to show:

A valid Annual Pass, linked MagicBand, MagicBand+, or Disney MagicMobile pass
A government-issued photo ID

Each Passholder receives one magnet. Supplies are not guaranteed.

agree, they turned a chunk of it into a bar last time it was open, cant even have a regular store now without selling the booze. It operated just fine as indiana jones merch for years, now there is nothing in the park except one shelf of it stashed in disney clothiers on hollywood blvd (is that still the name of it sorry)...also gone was the fun and themed jones jeep merch area out on the other side of the stunt show.

I don’t feel like there is a good merchandise location such as connections or discovery trading post in studios to hand this out. I agree that it’s silly to close an attraction temporarily for this but I’m not sure they really have another good option? Do they hand the magnet out all day long or is it limited hours?

While it’s not a huge loss it’s very silly to close an attraction for a magnet distribution. At Epcot and DAK they just had them in the gift shops and it worked fine. Unless they are doing special photo ops in there? But even then there is certainly space somewhere else.

I imagine it would be way more disruptive to have the crowd these attract just out somewhere in the park randomly. This at least keeps the influx of people in one area and out of guests who cannot partake in this’ way.

Are you kidding me? They are closing s show to hand out a stupid magnet? Who the heck is running the parks this would have never happened under Staggs.
