EPCOT will once again mark Independence Day with the return of its “Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks tag, scheduled to follow Luminous: The Symphony of Us at 9:00pm on July 4, 2025.

The special tag plays immediately after the regular nighttime show and adds a high-intensity patriotic finale featuring additional fireworks launched from multiple locations around World Showcase.

This follows the same format used in recent years, where the standard nighttime spectacular runs at its usual time, with Heartbeat of Freedom added as a post-show exclusive for July 4.

Based on previous years, guests can expect other patriotic elements throughout the park that day, including themed lighting on Spaceship Earth, live performances by Voices of Liberty, and character appearances at The American Adventure.

At Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Celebrate America! – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky will run on July 3 and 4 at 9:20 pm. This extended fireworks show features perimeter launches and a patriotic soundtrack, replacing the usual Happily Ever After performance on both nights. The two-night schedule matches the park’s approach from recent years, offering guests multiple chances to see the limited-time show.

Perhaps you do not…but one of the dumbest examples of groupthink (which wdw customers excel at) for a growing dumber of years is people looking at the posted wait times on the app and then forming “on the ground” opinions based on them no matter where they are. I have literally been in semi vacated parks at the same time ive seen posts saying “it’s mobbed!!” Posted about the very park and the app used as “evidence” Stupid comments never help anyone. They spread bad info

I don’t use the app as an arbiter of wait times and I don’t know where I said that I did. I usually set a timer when I get in standby to see what the wait times really are. That said, I usually travel with two people that do not like waiting in standby lines, so we will sometimes purchase lightning lane. The person that farted in line was me. I didn’t want people to be around me.

The last two July 4 dates in previous years were also surprisingly light in attendance.

For some proof this isn’t just an East Coast phenomenon, check out my trip report from DLR this weekend. I averaged 30 rides a day. https://forums.wdwmagic.com/threads/an-empty-dl-fourth-of-july-weekend-trip-report.986339/

You really need to not take the app as the arbiter of truth I was there during a holiday weekend in May and it was off the reservation Ole rise of the whatever was posted as a 75 at 5 pm with “individual lightning lane available” on a Saturday night…and was actually a 15 minute ONLY because it takes that long to go through the ridicules queue at 6:15? Did somebody fart in line and they had to evac? 🤷🏻

I gotcha… I wasn’t really saying at you…just more of a psa for the biggest myth in disney fandom…going on 10 years. 1. Declining attendance is bad…it’s a loss no matter what they increase the prices to compensate/toss dirt 2. This was never the “plan”…they screwed up on approach…it’s turned on them…and now it’s showing. 3. They’ve take zero effective action to correct…which is bad business 4. No change will come as long as the head Napoleon is clinging to the chair in the “late life crisis” he’s been going through continues…five years on…possibly started at the exact moment he quit on a Thursday and realized he was forgotten by Monday. Not gonna change.

I guess my post was too long. I literally started with "Great for me. Great for those that are here. Not the best for business though I am sure TDO would explain this away....."

Just that wait times were so low. Even when we were at WDW for a long weekend in early May, the wait times on that Sunday were longer. I’m not complaining, though.

Plenty on it and waving on all the trips I took. Island was the perfect level of goodbye crowds for me! Also to put it in perspective - not only was magic carpets a walk on - they were telling everyone they could re-ride if they wanted to. Heard that announcement many times as I was getting my dole whip.

Cast Members cheering as Guests disembark after the final cruise. - Goodnight, sweet Belle. You were indeed a beauty. -

Heard from a mole that there was almost nobody by it all day…except for a useless flood of vloggers with selfie sticks That’s a sad state of affairs no matter how you slice the cake

Great crowd of Cast and Guests lined up waving goodbye to the ol’ Belle as she passes by and sails off into the sunset tonight. - - -

@Disone The reality is…those pictures are “empty” from a business sense…way too much concrete and way too few sneakers on it. For the design and capacity of those parks? Older, wiser men would be having meetings 4 times a week to come up with a “mitigation plan”…no hesitation. Now? Romancing the saudis (sorry…their money funneling satellite state) and creepy pop up video recording sessions for the hotel room TVs 🫣 But they have no incentive right now to do a thing…the customers haven’t forced a response. Bet there were alot of bored waiters and cashiers in those shops and restaurants too… Which means it’s time to go on mandatory 32 hours.

Epic isn’t exactly juiced…so I’ll be there next month. Figured that would take at least until 2026…but no sense in waiting for crowds that never show…like Disneys Star Wars lands 😎
