Kali River Rapids at Disney's Animal Kingdom will close for its annual refurbishment beginning October 6, 2025, with a reopening planned for December.
The water ride typically undergoes scheduled maintenance early in the year, but Disney has moved the 2025 refurbishment earlier than usual. By completing the work in the fall, the attraction will be ready to operate ahead of the planned closure of DINOSAUR and the rest of DinoLand U.S.A. on February 2, 2026.
Previous Refurbishment Schedules
In recent years, Kali River Rapids has consistently closed after the holiday season:
- January 6, 2025 - March 13, 2025
- January 8, 2024 - March 14, 2024
- January 10, 2023 - February 26, 2023
The earlier closure this year shifts the downtime away from its typical January-March window.
Kali River Rapids, located in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom, takes guests on a white-water adventure through lush jungle scenery and a logging site storyline. The attraction is a popular choice during Florida's warmer months, with riders often getting completely soaked.
