Innoventions West at Epcot will have its final day of operation on April 29 2015, with the closure of Innoventions West, THINK presented by IBM, The Great Piggy Bank Adventure presented by T. Rowe Price and Where’s the Fire? presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance.

The Chase Meet and Greet will continue to operate in its existing location at Inventions West beyond April 29. The meet and greet is exclusively for Chase Disney Visa credit card holders, and provides a complimentary PhotoPass picture as part of the experience.

A new experience is being planned for Innoventions West, although Disney has not yet announced any details.

When I was there last week that's all it was. There was one lone sign saying the meet and greet was there

Just wondering if there has been any news lately on the closed side of Innoventions West? Has there been anything since they blocked up the exhibits and only have the Chase/Visa M&G And small section of PS3's to occupy the one wall?

That could be a Weird Al song. Livin' in an armchair fantasy. LA LA LA-LA LA. We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread already in progress.

I totally agree but Iger is under contract till 2018 and probably will get another extension since Disney stock is doing so well.

I'm just not sure why everything is a secret. No one is spilling the tea about a DHS makeover (if that's even still on the table), no one can say what's going on with Innoventions ... are they really just up and closing things with no plans otherwise? We used to have insiders actually drop some knowledge, now it's just a constant guessing game and armchair imagineering. Are they that much of a mess (and if they are that's not surprising). Why invest in either park when people keep flocking to them, even with lackluster offerings and closed buildings. Siiiigh. TDO needs a total overhaul. I'd imagine the Disney company MGMT needs a total overhaul.

That isn't a real rumor, it's just armchair fantasy.

There was a rumor floating around about moving WOP over along with IASW from MK. Is there anything educational showing how Walt wanted EPCOT to be if he lived? EPCOT is a shame. It really has the potential to be very special but haven't kept the park up. Disney needs to fix the three parks to take the pressure off MK.

"After all, dear, what is idle prattle for? Come on, we're not all that impressed with conversation. True readers avoid it when they can."

They really should just do an overhaul on EPCOT sooner, rather than later. 1. Would be nice to refurb both Innoventions.(maybe reduce Innoventions down to one side and put in an E ride in an old Innoventions Building. 2. Kick the festivals out of WOL and refurb WOL into an actual ride or two again. 3. Reopen 2nd floor of Imagination. 4. Move Festivals into unused Innoventions building if not refurbed per #1 above. Or move Festivals into Odyssey Building. 5. Carry on..... Thank You. Drops Mic. Walks away.... :hilarious: :hilarious: Resume Thread in 3. 2. 1.

So sad, I hope they know how bad this looks now along with the other closed pavilions. Hopefully something really nice goes in (not F&W related) but not holding my breath.

Perhaps it's just there if your too early for the M&G..

Monorail_Red_77May 05, 2015

I wonder if they will take them out later in the refurb process or if this means that they are not going to remove them at all. If not being removed then I am skeptical about how well this refurb will go. TDO Please prove me wrong. ;)

Monorail_Red_77May 05, 2015

I was wondering about that. I wasn't sure how far they would commit to closing it down. I wonder if the large waiting room style area across from the Piggy Bank is still open? Though they took out all of the new chairs in the past few months that they put in last summer/fall. :cautious:

Notice that they kept the game consoles still up on the wall....
