An incident during Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! at Disney's Hollywood Studios yesterday led to a Cast Member injury and a temporary change to the show.

A runaway boulder at Indiana Jones Epcit Stunt Spectcular has caused a temporary change to the show

During a performance of Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular!, the large boulder prop featured in the opening scene became dislodged from its track. A Cast Member intervened to stop the prop before it could reach the audience and was injured in the process.

Disney says the Cast Member received immediate medical attention and is now recovering. No guests were injured.

In a statement provided today, a Disney spokesperson confirmed that the show element involved will be changed following a safety review.

"We're focused on supporting our cast member, who is recovering. Safety is at the heart of what we do, and that element of the show will be modified as our safety team completes a review of what happened."

The incident occurred at Disney's Hollywood Studios, where the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! has been performed for more than three decades. The long-running show is known for its large-scale stunts and mechanical effects, which are routinely inspected and adjusted as part of ongoing operations.

Disney has not announced any extended closure for the show, suggesting performances will continue with adjustments as the review is completed.

Exactly. Its not like you can keep Indy going and open another show on the same scale. And if you haven't swung by HS in the last nearly 40 years to catch the show, it's probably not high on your list.

Yes, it is a people eater and that benefits the park as a whole. But let’s be honest, they’ve probably also kept it around to try and keep Indy represented in WDW. Now that AK should have the latest, greatest Indy experience, it might finally be time to try something new in the space. I agree with those who feel shows need changes and updates at least once a decade. They’re just not as classic as attractions in my opinion.

Yes the same resort that refuses to utilize Hyperion Theater, makes cuts constantly to roaming characters/experiences/shows, is only finally using fantasyland theater, and the day parade you’ve mentioned. Very frustrating

A Marvel stunt show but I don't know what characters they can use besides the Guardians of the Galaxy. Planet of the Apes for DHS too and it's a movie classic.

I view any new attraction as meaningful considering you so frequently only get two with new lands. Monstropolis itself is only one net new.

You mean the castle park without a daytime parade and likely won’t have one till 2027? They do the nighttime shows well at DLR at least. (Well until WJ and PtN go into storage).

It feels like Animation Courtyard won't be touched again for next decade with the current conversion to Disney Studios, so once Monstropolis is done they don't have that many options for adding new lands to the park that don't require a ton of work. Taking out Indy and Backlot to expand into the parking lot, and retheming Star Tours seems like most probable next step. You could also connect the new land to the Door Coaster plaza, removing that dead end.

I’d rather Disney invest in creating something new in a new area instead of doing yet another retheme of an already popular attraction or show If anything, they should simply restore the show back to the way it was before the pandemic.

I have gone to the show everytime that I visited DHS. I always enjoyed it and it bothers me a little that those that don't like it always want to deprive others of things they might enjoy. Just walk past it and push for Disney to create ADDITIONAL attractions and not just replace one. Especially one that is a massive people eater. There are new people making their first visit to WDW and have never seen it but might like the show. Don't advocate destroying something that is new to everyone that has never been to DHS and just demand adding new ones to the "Blessing in size" land of Disney.
