Project Fedora: Construction Site Near Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
Posted: Friday May 15, 2026 4:23pm ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Two Notices of Commencement have been filed for the address tied to Project Fedora near the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular exit at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The filings add new detail to what's coming to this small plot of land between the stunt show exit and Backlot Express.

Both Notices of Commencement list the owner as Facilities Asset Management rather than Walt Disney Imagineering. That distinction matters — WDI typically handles new attractions and major themed additions, while Facilities Asset Management tends to oversee maintenance work and smaller-scale changes.

That said, the two contractors named in the filings point to something more than routine upkeep.

Both are working within a footprint of roughly 202 square feet. Their involvement in themed fabrication suggests something is definitely being built and added to this location.

In our earlier report we flagged the small footprint as consistent with a snack or merchandise kiosk. Since then, a new possibility has emerged — that the addition could be aimed at younger guests, with some suggesting an Indiana Jones-themed play structure of some kind.

Nothing has been confirmed. Disney has still made no announcement about Project Fedora.

We'll continue to follow this one as permits and further filings emerge.

Yeah, pretty tame for these forums.

I've said for years that ST could easily be rethemed to a lot of different action IPs. Ala rockin Rollercoaster

This started out as simple post about a Indy Project at DHS and a week later it's.....

The bubble scene is a bit of a stretch of the definition of "Presence" I would say. That entire sequence was just a way to shove in as many movie references to stuff Disney animation had done since the debut of the original Fantasmic at Disneyland seven years earlier anyway

This thread is about something going up next to the Indiana Jones stunt show in Disney Hollywood Studios.

I get that, i could have said something similar if i talked about meet and greets or parades. But without Studios, only 3 parks were covered, which felt incomplete. As for Legend, it was open until 2002, roughly 5 years which is nothing to sneeze at.

What do you mean? They added detailed sets, the cityscape to LIDAR, an entire house set and garage, they made the fort cardboard trees into a real forest set, and the flying car

Honestly, cameos in live shows from IPs that already have attractions in other parks don't bother me. But aside from that, yeah (though at least Legend of the Lion King closed soon after Festival of the Lion King opened).

Expanding the ride or changing the layout was never mentioned. It’s a retheme but that doesn’t mean it can’t be good. They don’t need to build the structure or ride system so that buys them almost a year right there over a new attraction. Also keep in mind they had quite a bit of time to work offsite on all the scenery and any animatronics, now all that’s really left is installation and reprogramming. If they needed more time they would have closed Dinosaur earlier.

Confused as to why this concerns you. Aside from the early curve toward the insects, the layout is already basically the same as Disneyland’s ride. Look to that for what to expect in terms of scope.

I fear now my test track theory may be prophetic. I was hoping they would expand the ride or redo the layout but if its just a retheme alone inside and outside then they might be able to get away with just pitch black and stationary props. They did that with test track which was a bit of a let down. 2027 could be possible if they go that far but this is indiana jones not muppet coaster. The fans will know right out of the gate if disney fumbled hard. This is not cheap chappy at the helm but if they take that formula they could get it done that quick. If on the other hand they want to actually make this a good ride they will have to delay it at least till 2028 at the minimum guess we will know for sure once this project fedora shows its true colors.
