The lobby of the Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom quietly reopened today, offering guests air-conditioned space to escape the high temperatures impacting Central Florida this weekend. While the main show remains closed for refurbishment, the reopened lobby is once again accessible to park visitors.
Inside, the lobby appears largely unchanged from before the attraction's closure in January. Guests can still view historical artwork, presidential portraits, and exhibits highlighting key moments and figures in U.S. presidential history. Benches and seating also remain available, offering a cool and shaded place to rest.
The Hall of Presidents officially closed on January 20, 2025, for refurbishment, with many expecting an update to incorporate a figure of President Donald Trump following his return to office. Disney has not yet announced when the attraction will reopen or what specific changes might be made to the show.
The Hall of Presidents has historically closed for updates following each new president's inauguration. After Joe Biden was inaugurated as the 46th president on January 20, 2021, Disney announced the immediate closure of the attraction to add his animatronic. It reopened on August 3, 2021, featuring Biden's speech. During Donald Trump's first term, the attraction closed on January 17, 2017, and reopened on December 18, 2017, with a speaking role for Trump.
For now, the lobby provides guests with a quiet and historically themed space to take a break from the heat, even as the future of the full attraction remains unclear.
