Guardians of the Galaxy – Awesome Mix Live! will open this weekend, performing June 9 to August 19 2018 at the America Gardens Theatre in Epcot's World Showcase.

The show will feature Star-Lord and Gamora in person as a 7-piece alien band brings many of your favorite hits from Awesome Mix Volumes 1 & 2 to life. You may even catch a glimpse of Little Groot. Showtimes are at 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm daily.

The Story

After saving their world from certain destruction, Peter Quill—a.k.a. Star Lord—brokered a deal with Nova Prime and the Xandarian government to bring an outreach program to his home planet. The purpose? To share Xandar’s rich heritage and culture with Earth’s people.

As luck would have it, Peter informed Xandar’s leaders that there’s already a place on Earth with a similar mission… a theme park called Epcot, where all of Earth’s cultures are celebrated. So, as part of their first outreach, Xandar has sent some of their most talented performers to showcase their music!

Heh. Made me think of my step-dad. Jazz all day every day. LOL. Personally I'd like to see the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps return (not that that has anything to do with the theater). Or back to Liberty Square. I miss that. But I guess I need to stop wishing for what likely won't happen :joyfull: Guess there's always the Green Army Men ;)

To be truly American, it should only be smooth jazz all day long, every day of the year.

Singing show tunes from Broadway fits, right? ;) It's always been a theater that's never really had a 'themed' show. It's just a stage space to them.

... and into the Fall festival season. Don't forget to rage against them for being out of place!

It was in the wrong place, but doesn't negate it being a good show ;) no different than the cover bands they had every summer.

I agree. It was a good show, for what it is. I liked it more than I expected to, for many reasons. The performers were excellent and the music is fun. It clashes for sure but no worse or better than the former sounds like summer cover bands. But it just felt odd to think of Guardians in the American Gardens theater, but the show itself was really enjoyable.

I guess I missed this tidbit with all that's been going on lately, but does the party edu-tain guests about the evolving nature of human's relationship with sources of energy? ;) I can't for the life of me understand what is happening at EPCOT. I know, I know

No hint.

Is this a hint or you just showing your disdain at GotG being in WS? ;)

To Tomorrowland?

I hope so! I love this show.

That would make sense to build up interest for the attraction and try to justify its placement. ;) Caught it last week. Still don’t love the placement, but it was entertaining. As has been stated before, it’s not a ton different from other shows they’ve had in there. Only thing I missed was seeing different shows during our long summer trip. We had no interest in seeing the same exact show more than once. One of the loudest shows I’ve ever heard in that theater, so you do hear it all around WS. Also interesting to see the smoke pouring out of the back from the pyro.

Fun show! I've been told by someone associated with the show that it will probably be back...perhaps for two more summers.
