EPCOT's Frozen Ever After is scheduled to reopen February 12, 2026, according to operating hours now posted on Disney's website.

The ride closed January 26, 2026, for an Audio-Animatronics upgrade. Disney is installing new figures for Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff that match the technology used at World of Frozen in Hong Kong Disneyland.

The upgraded animatronics feature:

  • More expressive facial movements
  • Refined body animation
  • Closer resemblance to the film characters

The new figures represent the first major character update since Frozen Ever After opened in 2016.

Refurbishment Details

  • The closure runs approximately two and a half weeks.
  • The Norway Pavilion remains open during the refurbishment. Guests can atill visit the Royal Sommerhaus meet-and-greet and other pavilion experiences.
  • Frozen Ever After originally introduced all-electric Audio-Animatronics and 3D-printed components when it debuted. The technology has since appeared in Tiana's Bayou Adventure and other recent attractions.
  • The Hong Kong versions provided the template for this upgrade.

It's like the origin story...before she became a monster... Before she became bitter and angry that her sister had love, but she was destined to remain cold and alone and had to steal the children of Arendelle and put slivers of ice in their heart to make them forget their lives outside of her ice palace.....

Congratulating themselves for fixing something they screwed up really is something else.

Blame the Lopez duo for that. When Let it Go hit so hard that everyone started rooting for the villain the creative team had to rework the story to make her the hero.

Frozen has almost nothing to do with the Hans Christian Anderson Snow Queen story.... the only thing it has in common is there is snow and ice and it is cold.... that is about it.... I wish it really had been based on the HCA story with a real villain, and a better storyline... Elsa would have been a great villain...

I thought they stuck out and looked weird personally. How fun… I didn’t have anyone next to me in my row and I was in the front row so I guess that’s why I noticed them - so adorable. Still miss maelstrom to be honest! Haha

Yea! Maelstrom Easter egg

They really don’t when actually on the ride. Photos and videos blow out the projected elements. The trolls are also still projection because the seams aren’t notable.

I’m guessing I just missed them but have the AA puffins always been there at the end of the ride?

Why didn't they change Olaf and Sven's projected eyes? Looks weird now.

not a fan of the bright orange spotlights, that needs to get toned down.

The updates are a really big deal. I knew the lighting was improved, I just didn’t realize it would actually make the ride actually become decent.

Blockbuster video!

I mean I agree with you, but you are making a conscious choice. I really don't like Galaxy's Edge's approach but I still love aspects, and if I'm at the parks I'm not going to focus on what I don't like.
