A fire broke out at EPCOT in Walt Disney Word close to the France pavilion this evening, March 22, around 7pm. Social media posts showed thick black smoke rising from a backstage area near the Ratatouille show building in the France pavilion. Photo and video via @ryanwmsn via X.
The fire occurred in a walk-in cooler located backstage, and the fire was extinguished quickly, by approximately 7:15pm. No injuries have been reported. Cast Members quickly cleared all attractions, shops, and restaurants in the area.
At 8:20 pm, A Disney spokesperson told WDWMAGIC that the France pavilion is reopening to guests. My Disney Experience shows Remy's Ratatouille Adventure open as of 8:45pm, but Impressions de France remains closed.
