New Pre-Boarding Video Screens at Expedition Everest
Posted: Monday April 6, 2026 9:30am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

Expedition Everest at Disney's Animal Kingdom has new video screens installed in the boarding area, giving guests safety and ride preparation information just before they board the train.

Two sets of screens are now in place at either end of the red room - the final holding area guests pass through before reaching the loading platform. The videos demonstrate how to operate the coaster restraint and how to stow smaller items in the mesh cargo pouches on the ride vehicle.

The addition is designed to help guests arrive at the train already knowing what to do, reducing the time needed for cast members to walk individual riders through the process. That should help speed up loading and keep the attraction running more efficiently.

The screens are framed and have aged video, keeping them in line with the Himalayan Escapes expedition storyline.

A screen killed their brother and foreclosed on the farm.

Why are we spam posting on a thread about themed safety video screens on Everest?

It was decided by the legal team that not having a safety video opened them up to more financial liability in the event something happened. Do you actually think that a ride safety video on a roller coaster where you are held in by a lap bar actually improves rider safety? If somebody can't figure out not to wiggle out of the restraint and stand up or exit the vehicle than their stupidity is beyond hope and whatever happens to them is deserved.

That would be a welcome change, and make us rope droppers more efficient.

...and apparently in their attraction approval presentations...

I am actually the drummer, percussionist and singer in a local rock band and we play one song in which I co-wrote the lyrics and one of the lines I wrote was "You have the power to make my dreams come true". I often tell my friends "The lyrics that actually sound poetic are not mine, the ones that sound like they came from a Disney theme park promotional film are the ones I wrote.

I would personally feel cheated if they had a extended refurb and don't bother to fix the yeti. Then again, I feel cheated that they let it stay broken for eighteen years in the first place especially with what they are charging.

I do wonder when we’ll see a major refurb. Even ignoring the yeti, the mountain itself looks like it could use a good repaint

It's either a modified slot machine or targets on a dartboard that Disney chooses from: Magic/Magical Dreams Adventure Wishes Fantasy Wonder etc.

There is a recent push to increase throughput.

I knew that was going to fail before it was even launched.

Having seen the video, most of us would not characterize it as something that is significantly aimed at improving safety. The video tells people to lower their own lap bar. I think the purpose is to expedite the load(ing) time. If anything, CM's will now spend slightly less time interacting/checking each guest as they load. so yes, it does point to WDW's priorities. They sold us interactive Magicbands that no longer interact as they were advertised to interact.
