EPCOT Dedication Plaque 2024
Posted: Tuesday November 26, 2024 6:14am ET by WDWMAGIC Staff

The EPCOT dedication plaque has made its return to the main entrance of the park, now incorporated into the sleek new signage that reflects the park's updated aesthetic.

The plaque is mounted on a black background, framed by a contrasting blue border. The design also features EPCOT's bold font, a signature element of the park's refreshed visual style.

The dedication plaque includes the text written by Card Walker.

To all who come to this Place of Joy, Hope and Friendship
Welcome
Epcot is inspired by Walt Disney's creative vision. Here, human achievements are celebrated through imagination, wonders of enterprise and concepts of a future that promises new and exciting benefits for all. May EPCOT Center entertain, inform and inspire and above all, may it instill a new sense of belief and pride in man's ability to shape a world that offers hope to people everywhere.

This update follows a series of enhancements to EPCOT's entrance, including the installation of new lighting, flags, landscaping updates, and a refreshed entrance fountain that pays homage to the park's classic look.

You can find the plaque near the EPOCOT main entrance at the flag pole.

the planter fails at multiple levels...because of the odd shape of it, it is not even a good seat. it should have been designed specifically for seating since there is no water... That was one thing old shopping malls frommthe 60s and 70s got right...there were always planters with seating built in... well the ones I frequented as a child anyway....and always fountains or streams with waterfalls... such a different world now

Get rid of that ugly planter while you’re at it

I have to believe they are trying to fix/replace them and not just cementing over them. Ground lights are nothing new or innovative, I think they just rushed it the first time around; sourced it wrong, installed it wrong, whatever, to get this area finally open after such a long time playing in the dirt. At least they are trying. Since they are doing this, there is no hope for a fountain. Let’s see what happens.

or removing them and filling it in with concrete.... lol Do we actually know that they are getting fixed? or is that an assumption?

Sweet. I'll be there tomorrow, interested to see it for myself.

About damn time! (Wonder how long the fixes will last…)

Well, would you look at that!

Maybe they can replace the lady parts display with a fountain. That would be something to look at while they rip out all the in-ground LED that isn’t working.

Please don't get my hopes up.... ;)

They can do whatever they want to do... They could bring water in if they wanted to... They don't want to....and that is part of the problem... They are happy with the corporate office park vibe. They don't create that we would like a fountain...and Journey Of Water is a completely different thing... It is not a replacement for a show fountain, it is a water play area... a very different thing....and they have also been saying that it is located in World Nature, not World Celebration where the non-functioning pavements lights and oddly designed planter are....

In the 5 years they played in the dirt, my hope and wish is that there is plumbing stubbed out under that ugly planter. 🙏 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

The original plans before COVID called for both.

I think the only way Epcot will get a fountain back is if they rip out Journey of Water right next to the central area. It's a matter of redirecting the plumbing back to a fountain. I just have a hunch they can't go both.

I never get mine up anymore. I just get pleasently surprised when they do something right which happens as often as pigs fly these days.
