Finishing touches continue at the new EPCOT main entrance.

The first six of what will ultimately be twelve flag poles are now in position at the new EPCOT main entrance plaza.

No flags are yet in place, but are expected to represent the park's pavilions.

Each flag pole is a thick stainless steel appearance, with a silver ball on the top. Ground based LED lighting is already in position.

So it looks better aesthetically, the park is far more of a thematic black hole now than it was then and that's really far more important in the long run.

I don't know about that. While the reworking of the area formerly known as Future World has involved some significant mistakes and has been underwhelming in other respects, they really put a lot of effort into messing it all up during the late-1990s and early-2000s by sticking all sorts of unnecessary decorations around and going wild with the paint scheme.
