Epcot main entrance area - July 15 2020

The main entrance area at EPCOT is moving closer to completion with both sides now open and free of walls.

Late into the COVID-19 closure, crews completed the concrete work on the right hand side as you enter the park. The area is landscaped and open to guests. The fountain area still remains behind walls however.

Giving the entrance a new look is many more trees, including in the main central planter.

Very True. I'm willing to give them a pass this year, all things considered but even in normal times, it does take them 4 times longer to complete projects.

no but they are running test trains... I was exaggerating, but it does take them a crazy amount of time to complete every project... I have actually seen land cleared and a massive 8 story apartment building built and open in less time than it has taken them to renovate this existing entry plaza and fountain...

Is that open now? Seriously question :)

I wish they would just finish it already...it took less time to build the Jurassic Velocicoaster than it takes for them to repave an existing plaza and restore an existing fountain...

That drawing of what is to come for the entrance clearly showed clean beams. I know they still have time, but did they lay off the guys who power wash the monorail beams?

So does the current pavilion.

But how is the monorail beam so clean? It must be some photo trickery.
