Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World will close at 6:00?pm on Saturday, August 16, 2025 - three hours earlier than its usual 9:00?pm summer closing time.

While Disney has not provided an official reason, early closures are typically linked to private events or full park buyouts. These events are not open to the public and usually require the park to be cleared in the early evening to prepare for invited guests.

Here’s how operating hours currently look across Walt Disney World for that date:

  • Hollywood Studios: 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • Magic Kingdom: 9:00am – 10:00pm
  • EPCOT: 9:00am – 9:00pm
  • Disney's Animal Kingdom: 8:00am – 6:00pm

If you’re planning to visit Hollywood Studios on August 16, arrive early and maximize the earlier part of the day. For guests with Park Hopper tickets, moving to EPCOT or Magic Kingdom in the evening may be a good option.

I made this a DHS day because of the early closing and had no problem getting Sci Fi when I booked this morning. There's still availability for Sci Fi right now, and that never happens.

I would too, but I think HS being where the highest concentration of thrill rides and Star Wars is probably makes it compelling for these kind of events more than a park like MK or EPCOT would.

I believe it is Snap On Tools. They bought out MK a few years ago around the same time of year.

You can see them in the My Disney Experience app or at https://www.wdwmagic.com/calendar.htm

Stupid question but where do you get this information from, the website only shows park hours until August 9th today?

Thoughts on making this a DHS day? We can see Fantasmic another day, so that isn't an issue. Will it be quiet because of the reduced hours like at MK during party days, or will everyone have the same idea? Our two options for that day at DHS or Epcot.

If I had that kind of money, I'd much rather rent out EPCOT or MK than DHS. More to do frankly, and much more wow for those I'm trying to impress.
