The Disney Society Orchestra will perform a new show beginning today at the Theater of the Stars in Disney's Hollywood Studios.

Following a similar format to "The Music of Pixar Live" that played back in 2017, the concert includes music from Toy Story, The Little Mermaid, and The Muppets.

Character appearances during the show include Belle and Beast.

Shows will take place daily at 11:15am, 12pm, 1pm, 1:45pm, 2:30pm, 4:10pm, 4:55pm, 5:35pm and 6:20pm.

This new show will play for a limited time in place of the regular Beauty and the Beast, which is still unavailable due to a continuing dispute with the actors union Equity. The union is asking for daily COVID-19 testing of performers, a request that Disney is so far not prepared to accommodate.

All they're missing is Dug and Russell...

Armchair imagineering seems to be the norm on here. ;)

True. Which is why the concept could work in a Disney park. Similar to how the GMR was movie centric this could put music center stage. But now this is veering towards armchair imagineering.

People wouldn’t be seeing it for the classical music which was my point. I don’t think people watched Fantasia just for the music.

jt04Aug 03, 2020

Classical music is something TWDC has a history with so the idea of an attraction based on music isn't far fetched. And a new venue could feature an unlimited scope of shows. 🎵🎶🎷🎺🎻🎹 🎥 P.S. Walt never intended for Fantasia to be complete but always adding new segments. This and other ideas could be explored. IMO.

And?

jt04Aug 03, 2020

Bourne Spectacular tech may be a game changer for all sorts of new concepts. Just a thought.

jt04Aug 03, 2020

Fantasia was a Walt idea.

Like sarcasm, understatement when typed can be lost on the reader. ;)

Oh yeah -- as unpopular as it would be with the majority of guests, it might be even MORE unpopular with management!

UNCgolfAug 03, 2020

It was an intentional understatement for effect.

Ok...good stuff.
