I think the lack of interesting ground units hurts the overly basic float design even more. i want to watch the ground units in paint the night as much as possible. They are doing such cool choreography and the lights continue to change and twinkle and all.

Starlight is a one-and-done for me too. I didn’t stop to watch it last trip, only from a distance. It’s too one-note and lacks emotion.

I still think it's necessary that feedback and some criticism is given to it until the changes actually happen. WDW is a big tourist destination and most people visiting won't ever see another Disney parade outside of there. Starlight is not the best example of a Disney night parade to be shown to people who will never see one again. Especially when DLE (whatever is left of it), WDI, and the company as a whole are actively taking credit and advertising their works in Paint the Night and Dreamlights; current parades that have put a lot more effort into their presentation compared to Starlight. As @AxolotlTales brought up, Starlight has "big shoes to fill" compared to WDW's previous electrical parade Spectromagic. Spectromagic had a lot of depth and effort put into it (Basically Mickey Mouse and The Spectromagic create energy and light to power up the parade). The designers were encouraged to think more creatively with the float designs and music choice. Starlight mostly consists of a single unit (multiple in the case of the Disney Princess section) between one to three characters (multiple in the finale) causing the parade's shorr length and gaps to be notable. Alongside the parade's score not having as much variety in musical scores and instruments compared to Spectromagic entirely being orchestrated and unique variations of the main theme. Spectromagic had more variety in terms of Disney Characters and older IPs to representation. While Starlight and PTN is mainly focused on Disney and Pixar's newer hits. Dreamlights at Tokyo Disneyland did a better job at presenting both classic and modern Disney thanks to getting updated every couple of years. When Spectromagic was active, it was a "must-see experience" for tourists and helped make their final day at WDW to be extra special and memorable.

They are barely showing that parade as it is. Look I’m all for criticizing Starlight and recommending changes. Never have been against that and love when Disney decides to plus it.

Nearly all of the issues in this parade could've been resolved with a higher budget, which I'm sure the creatives aren't in charge of. Then the main critiques would've been a matter of preference. Until we get to that point I think criticism is still needed.

Starlight was a one and done for me... Seemed too short, lacking something...or a lot of something. I am glad some people love it...of course it is way better than nothing....I wish it had the depth of the old Spectromagic...

Anything you’d like. Agree, disagree, ignore, etc. just like every post on a discussion site :) I count myself in that group. I wouldn’t have stood and watched it about a dozen times so far if I didn’t like it.

What do you want us to do with this information? It’s great you find PTN more enjoyable. However there are folks who also like Starlight as well despite its shortcomings.

Paint the Night is so much more impressive and fun. I think my favorite part is Nemo swimming through the jellyfish. 6 ground performers and some really creative choreography tell such a lovely story. Also realizing how basic starlight is. Other than blue fairy it’s just characters on a basic parade float. PTN you’ve got several characters that are up in some really unusual spots where it’s not obvious how they got there. another thing…. Even the basic light up costumes in PTN still have color changing sequences.

I think it was more an exaggeration. Precedent would show that this would be changed in the future, but that precedent would also show that in the future this would be cut down, so who knows. If we look at the current state of things, they seem uninterested with entertainment to a degree, so I still wouldn't expect anything new for a while. FoF needed to go yesterday. Even operations knows it's on its last leg. Fireworks are another can of worms, especially after the recent one. Night parades aren't in danger there. PTN will go back into that warehouse to sit back where it was all these years before. DL does have an entertainment problem, but it's an issue outside of night parades, and an issue that'll be handled differently than WDW
