Disney has provided full details on the upcoming transportation verification policy at Disney Springs, after a Guest Relations response sent to a WDWMAGIC reader shed light on some key specifics.
The response confirms that from June 28 2026, guests boarding Walt Disney World bus service or the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs to resort hotels will need to show a valid Disney Resort Hotel room key, MagicBand, or a dining or Enchanting Extras reservation. It also reveals a specific time window for guests traveling with a dining or Enchanting Extras reservation.
The full text of the Guest Relations response reads as follows:
Beginning June 28, 2026, Guests boarding Walt Disney World Bus Service or the Sassagoula River Cruise from Disney Springs to visit our Disney Resort Hotels will be asked to show a valid Disney Resort Hotel room key, MagicBand, or a Dining or Enchanting Extras reservation. Please keep the following details in mind for your visit:
- Guests with a valid Disney Resort Hotel reservation may board any Disney Resort Hotel Bus Service or Sassagoula River Cruise boat from Disney Springs
- Guests with a valid Dining or Enchanting Extras reservation may board the appropriate Disney Transportation from Disney Springs up to 2 hours before their reservation time.
- This process is specific to Disney Transportation from Disney Springs to Disney Resort Hotels. Guests may continue using available Disney Transportation from Theme Parks to visit Disney Resort Hotels.
Disney Transportation from Disney Springs is intended for Guests staying at a Disney Resort Hotel or visiting one with a valid Dining or Enchanting Extras reservation. This helps keep our Disney Transportation running smoothly and allows us to deliver the best possible experience for our Disney Resort Hotels Guests.
What Counts as Valid Verification
Disney's response sets out two categories of eligible guests:
Guests with a valid Disney Resort Hotel reservation can board any resort hotel bus or Sassagoula River Cruise boat from Disney Springs.
Guests with a valid dining or Enchanting Extras reservation can board the appropriate Disney transportation from Disney Springs up to two hours before their reservation time.
The two-hour window is a notable detail. If your dining or Enchanting Extras reservation is at 7pm, you can board from Disney Springs from 5pm.
What This Policy Does Not Affect
Disney's response also clarifies what remains unchanged. This verification process only applies to Disney transportation departing from Disney Springs to resort hotels. If you're at a theme park, you can continue using Disney transportation to visit resort hotels as normal.
Disney states the reason for the change is to keep transportation running smoothly and to deliver the best possible experience for resort hotel guests.
What You Need to Board from Disney Springs
