The Lime Garage at Disney Springs is open again today after completing the first phase of its refurbishment work.

The timing is good news for visitors, as the garage returns during what is typically one of the busier periods at Disney Springs. However, the reopening window is short.

Second Closure Starts February 17

The Lime Garage will close again on February 17 for the second phase of maintenance work, remaining shut through March 13.

That gives you less than a week to take advantage of the additional parking capacity before spaces tighten up again.

Check Parking Before You Go

The My Disney Experience app shows real-time Disney Springs parking availability. You'll find the status in the operating hours section, beneath the Disney Springs hours listing.

A red message appears in the app when parking reaches capacity, giving you advance warning before you make the trip.

With the Lime Garage back open, parking pressure on the Orange and Grapefruit garages and surface lots eases for now. But with Disney Springs busy at this time of year, lots can still fill quickly, particularly on weekends and evenings.

Plan ahead if you're visiting between now and February 17. After that, expect reduced parking capacity again through March 13 when the second closure ends.

Disney has added a notice about the closure: The Lime Garage in Disney Springs will be closed for maintenance from January 12 through February 11, and February 17 through March 13. During this time, parking will be available in the Orange Garage.

It doesn't close for another 10 days. But I did park in level 2 today (was completely full).

Seems odd that they can't do a partial closure either a deck or two at a time or splitting the garage in half and doing it that way. I suspect this has more to do with the Parking availability sensor/ light system than anything else as they have never worked properly and fixing/replacing them would require some pretty invasive surgery to the parking structure. The closure could also be to fix the Entry / Exit ramps for the garage which has been a cluster since it opened as the increased security at Disney Springs was kind of an Add on after the fact and it required traffic flow changes from the original plans.

I'm curious on this one too. How can you be doing major structural repairs but open up for a weekend in the middle of it?

My company has done similar "structural repairs" to a parking garage that we built 10-20 years ago. The work was mainly to 1) replace expansion joints that isolate sections of a very large building as they'd been run over excessively and the original expansion joint covers weren't sufficient to the amount of traffic it endured, 2) reinforce certain areas to allow for heavier vehicles (especially with EVs which are trending much heavier than typical vehicles), and some EV retrofit work to add chargers (and the massive amount of electrical you need to run to feed said chargers) and car count technologies. Those last items aren't necessarily structural but I see this work a lot with garages. We're coming up on 10 years on the dot for when this opened, so this feels pretty normal for preventative maintenance. If it wasn't safe they wouldn't let people park in it currently.

Not to mention, one that allows for reopening in the middle of said repairs...

Curious what kind of repairs need closing the garage for nearly 2 months straight...
