More walls down at The Springs

The Disney Springs project will reach a major milestone this weekend with the opening of the Town Center, the largest addition to the former Downtown Disney area.

In preparation for the opening, construction walls are now down all the way from T-REX to Morimoto Asia, and along the former Pleasure Island bridge - giving views of STK and Planet Hollywood Observatory.

Between the new trees in the redone MK hub, the mature trees re-planted in Epcot to obscure Norway/Arendelle, and the many new trees that are being used in Disney Springs, looks like someone at WDW finally realized that trees A) look nice, and B) provide shade, which people like because it's Florida and the sun is hot.

Small, positive steps...

Not to mention water. They have been adding in a lot of water elements to almost everything they have created. Rapunzel area, New Fantasyland, the new hub and all over Disney Springs, not to mention it also looks like waterfalls in Pandora from the art.

now if they could fathom the importance of benches..
Just changed some FastPasses so I can spend an afternoon here. :)
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't uniqlo coming in the town center?

Yes Uniqlo is coming to the town center
Going to be on the gulf coast of Florida the 2nd week of June. Any idea which Town Center stores will be open at that point?

Thanks!

are ya'll still butt-hurt about the trees in the hub? they have ALWAYS planted and moved large trees as needed. THE HUB DOES NOT NEED TREES as much as they needed clear sightlines.
now benches OTOH...

Yes, and it's going to be one of the biggest stores in the town center.

Noone wants to see their butt broiled glued to 100C benches.

My guess is a reasonable amount will be open. All the Disney owned food places will be.

Photo update as of Wednesday, May 11. The new "Disney Springs" entrance door to the World of Disney store is uncovered, but not open yet. However, you can view Town Center from the door windows. Under Armour has a flagship store in the tower structure.

A side view of the walk up food outlet dispensing a Canadian favorite: "Poutine" French fries covered in gravy and cheese. Poutine is directly behind the Lego Store.

Another courtyard fountain.

The springs were bubbling in several places today, on both sides of the bridge.

This new shelter just outside Basin will serve as a valet parking kiosk. The original Marketplace parking lot (straight ahead) will probably be the valet parking area. The Lime garage is just off to the right in the below photo. The road in the background goes out to Buena Vista Drive.

More electronic map displays are popping up at Disney Springs entry points. This one will serve people coming from Hotel Plaza Blvd. Another one will be installed at The Landing close to the Disney ferry dock entrance.

This electronic map display is located at Bongo's which is just across from the alternate pedestrian entrance to the Orange garage, near Splitsville.
