Yes, I would rather it be available all day for everyone, but my thought it that if they need the paywall as motivation to bring it back that it’s better than nothing. We took the kids at age 1.5 and 3 (I had to be in Tokyo and Shanghai for work, as luck would have it, and brought the family along)— we could bribe our 3 year old to try and go back to sleep (or at least let us sleep while they were quite and still) with promises of extra treats at the parks, but the time zone change was total murder with the 1.5 year old—and of course they don’t remember going at all…so my advice is to wait until your kid is old enough they can be bribed to stay in bed until at least 4:30AM. 🤣 We are huge Jungle Cruise fans (it was actually our family Halloween costume!) and I’m sad to hear they might be getting rid of it, will add it to our list, though it could be cold for a scenic river cruise in December. That would be terrible—especially if it means they stop rotating out for the holidays. Historically we’ve gone in the summer (terrible hot weather but still better than WDW in summer) and they do the Vacation Hoedown—which is what I grew up with at DLR and, as such, is my platonic ideal of jamboree. My kids have seen it (mostly in Japanese, lol) but don’t remember it, and I’ll be very sad if the last classic CBJ goes away. My kids would probably love to see the non-seasonal version of the original bears that they loved at WDW too. IIRC, most of the dialogue is in Japanese but a lot of the songs remain in English.

Only because genpop allows it.

Tokyo runs their parks like Disneyland used to be ran. Sad to see both US resorts slipping into this current state.

They could bring it back even with the Christmas Party! Hell, make it debut exclusively at the party or something, or run later hours. Maybe an extended version with more songs? I dunno. They still do the Jingle Cruise despite the event, I think having more holiday overlays would be nice for regular guests who aren't doing the party. Going to TDR sounds exciting! I've always wanted to go but I have a one-month-old now so travelling that far isn't an option right now- which is a shame because I'm pretty sure Tokyo is losing their Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room, and more pretty soon. There's also a rumor that they're going to get the CBMJ to replace the regular classic version which would also be unfortunate. I haven't seen the full original version since I was too young to remember and the last time I saw the cut original version was in 2018... would be nice to see it (even in Japanese) one last time.

Agree. I keep hoping that the Christmas party will stop selling out so they will be forced to bring back the Christmas overlay to move tickets…doesn’t look like it’s happening this year either. We are actually going to TDR next month and (finally) seeing the Christmas version of the show is near the top of my todo list…my son loves Big Al, so hoping he gets more time on stage and that we can find some merch.

Man, Tokyo gets all the good stuff- they just released a series of new merch for the Jingle Bell Jamboree, featuring this artwork that was in their calendar from last year. There's this postcard of the full cast, plus a postcard set with some individual characters and a folder set. I wish our CBJ would get the love Tokyo's does 🥲 A Christmas overlay would kill in MK! You don't even have to do a new one, the classic would go over pretty well I think!

Speaking of Loggins..... or, ahem, logs- https://www.disneystore.com/country-bear-jamboree-lincoln-logs-building-set-417169080154.html Disney just dropped, of all things, a Country Bear Jamboree Lincoln Log set! Never thought I'd see new merch anytime soon, let alone something like this. The set is $34.99 in the parks (it was found at the Christmas store in Disney Springs but will probably end up in Frontierland eventually), and online it's $49.99. There's also sets for Big Thunder Mountain that comes with a train, and a smaller set for the Frontier Trading Post of all things. Interestingly enough, Trixie and Henry appear to be in new outfits at a first glance. Upon closure inspection, their outfits are just their CMBJ outfits that were (intentionally or unintentionally) colored differently. I dig the blue on Trixie, it calls back to her original outfit and is much more flattering than the hot pink everywhere.

I’d actually beg to differ. They’ve stepped up their game, at least in certain areas. For example, PotC, IASW, and other attractions are in the best shape they’ve been in in years.

Smiley/OCDSep 25, 2025

True, I should’ve clarified that…it was inspired by the movie, but not actually in it…

solidyneSep 25, 2025

Actually, it wasn't in the movie! (Neil, Burt, and Carol wrote it, inspired, after coming home from seeing the film.) I know you're just joking, but I couldn't help myself. Also, Kenny Loggins would "welcome" ET...

Smiley/OCDSep 24, 2025

Can he? The song was in E.T….will UNI let him go ‘cross town to the mouse house?? (Just a joke…I don’t think it would matter, lol)

TouchdownSep 24, 2025

Heart lights not working? Someone call Neil Diamond he’ll fix that real quick.

Charlie The Chatbox GhostSep 23, 2025

Have you even seen the new show? The AAs are as good as the ones in TBA and they actually work 99% of the time. Teddi being shut off is the only time I’ve seen one not function correctly, the rest of the errors have just been little things like the smoke machine or the heart lights. It’s a high quality and reliable show.

You and some others around here are just a bunch of bad news bearers.
