After 19 years and entertaining over 10 million guests, La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil will come to a close later this year.

The final La Nouba show will take place on December 31 2017, and although no replacement has been announced, it is strongly expected that a new Cirque du Soleil show will take La Nouba's place.

“We are incredibly proud of the success that La Nouba has had for nearly two decades,” said Jerry Nadal, Senior Vice President of the Resident Shows Division for Cirque du Soleil. “We want to thank Walt Disney World Resort for a wonderful run over the years. We look forward to announcing what’s next.”

La Nouba, which premiered on Dec. 23, 1998, is the first Cirque du Soleil show to take permanent residence in a city outside of Las Vegas. It has entertained, engaged and inspired audiences and throughout the years, the show continued to evolve. Most recently La Nouba introduced two new acts: B-Boy, commonly referred to as breakdancing, and Aerial Bamboo, a technique mastered by only a handful of performers worldwide. The acts joined following the addition of new uproarious clowns and a breathtaking juggling rolla bolla act.

Where did you sit? I feel like arena shows (especially the ice show) need to be experienced up close to fully comprehend the intricacy to what they're doing....mostly on ice skates! I guess I really got excited about the violin player (OMG so good), the technical aspect of the show like projection tracking on really fast-moving skaters, and the acts themselves. I'm also wondering if some acts weren't in the show you saw. When I first saw the show in Orlando, 1.5 acts were pulled. The most critical being the red straps act. The chair act also wasn't fully functional, so he only stacked them like 1/4 of the way he normally does. I saw it a couple weeks later in Raleigh and they were all in and stunning. The girl flipping around on the trapeze wasn't a wow for you? Or the finale of hand to hand on the trapeze where they were just throwing that girl around like she was paper...and straight down to the ice? Man, after reliving it in my head I want to go see it again....RIGHT NOW!!!! :D PS: It's coming to Tampa as well as Miami in December? Yay! I can see it multiple times, then! ha ha ha!

Somewhere, Kenny Loggins is wondering why the title above wasn't about him! ;)

I would KILL to see this at Disney Springs, but alas, that’s never gonna happen. Btw, the show you’re thinking of is Immortal. This Is It was his concert tour that he unfortunately never got to start.

Think something more along the lines of LOVE.

Cirque’s MJ touring show was called Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour. The permanent show in Vegas is Michael Jackson ONE. Very different shows from each other despite the similar themes. ONE is the far superior show, IMHO.

I'd have to guess that Cirq's "Style" and trying to please Disney's "character integrity" is hitting some major hiccups along the way. BUT, I will say.. they managed to make a great show using the Beetles... so who knows.. I'll hope for the best here.

I felt the same about Cirque on ice, but was also blown away. Definitely see Luzia. It’s also amazing...especially for a big top. I really hope the rumors are true that Luzia is coming to Orlando so I can see it several more times. I also cannot wait for the show to reopen at Disney Springs. It being closed in a hole in my being. :)

We were blown away by Crystal. Didn't know how well Cirque was gonna translate on ice but they made it work. The acts, skating, story, set and lighting design were top notch. The last three Cirque shows I have seen(Kurios, Volta and Crystal) are the best shows I have seen Cirque create in years. And I have seen 13 different Cirque productions.

Michael Jackson’s This is It?

The pendular pole act in Crystal, though! So awesome! And the chairs, and trapeze, and that finale hand to hand, and, and, and, OMG it was so good! Go see it when it comes to your town!

No Cirque even stated themselves they are making an all new show so doubt they will put an existing show there after making that statement. :)

Rumor’s that Luzia, a Grand Chapiteau show, after a stop in Houston, will be making a long term residency at Disney Springs in 2019.
