Four Classic Disney Characters Return for Meet and Greets at Hollywood Studios

Disney's Hollywood Studios is now home to some of the rarest character meet and greets at Walt Disney World. Four classics are back on the schedule, offering guests a chance to see characters that are usually only available during limited events.

Character Schedule

  • Pinocchio - 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:50pm, 2:50pm, 3:30pm
  • Mary Poppins - 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:50pm, 2:50pm, 3:50pm
  • Jiminy Cricket - 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:20pm, 3:20pm
  • Bert - 9:30am, 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 2:20pm, 3:20pm

For fans of classic Disney, this lineup is special. Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket are among the hardest characters to meet at Walt Disney World, typically appearing only for limited events or rare occasions.

It’s about time.
Other moves that should have happened-

Studios
-Live action Ariel retired
-Anything different in Pixar Plaza
Mike W., Sadness, Merida etc

-Bring back Fantasmic sets that are not hidden and deliberately kept away from guests. If Studios Entertainment/Mgmt do not want to share set times, so be it. But it feels icky and petty to continue with the current plan. Let guests meet the characters.
Honestly this is the perfect park to run a character cavalcade of sorts through.

They really should bring something back, doesn’t need to be a full parade … “Stars of Disney” or something.

While I am eminently thrilled to be mistaken for the wonderful Mary Poppins, I must inform you that I do have my own name.

You'll be hearing from my agent shortly.

Actually, no, I don't think they should do this. Seeing little girls of color meeting her is an incredibly special moment. It was a highlight of my last trip. I don't want to take that away. Whether or not you or I like the film, those little girls love that Ariel and they should be allowed to have her.

I don't think "Mr. Penguin - President of Animal Kingdom" would fit in an autograph book

Depends on how small he writes!
ALL RIGHT!!! Way to go. They got somebody who could fit the Jiminy costume. Now I need Jiminy to stay around 226 days til DW , DS and I arrive.

They used to do motorcades by putting the characters in convertibles. It's the only park you can do that in.
This is good. Let’s get a much wider and more varied range of characters and let’s have them walk around rather then just stand at meet n greets.

I think are doing this a little bit more, started with Cool Kids Summer or whatever.

Yeah, I saw a lot of stories of like Flynn and Rapunzel playing games with kids, etc

Hopefully they keep it up now that Cool Kid Summer has passed

They did a lot of that with Star Wars Weekends also. I have a photo of Ian McDiarmid in a convertible pretending to shoot out lightning from his hand.
Such simple, incredibly low-cost little touches like this can enhance the experience so much. Older, perhaps lesser-know characters just walking around, no queues, or lightning lanes needed, interacting with the random guests they come across can create so much, at this point desperately needed atmosphere. I can't comprehend why there isn't more of this.
