Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a new construction permit for EPCOT's Canada Pavilion in Walt Disney World.

The construction permit carries the usual vague description of "Install Set Elements" and is assigned to Icarus Exhibits. The long-time Disney vendor specializes in custom theming for immersive environments and has recently worked on TRON Lightcycle Run, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge, and Toy Story Land.

Despite the Canada Pavilion wrapping up a major exterior refurbishment project, construction walls have again appeared at the pavilion.

The area being worked on is at the Hotel du Canada, in an area of the building that has been off-limits to guests for years.

While we don't know what is coming, with Walt Disney Imagineering involved, it is likely to be a guest-facing space, with the possibility of a new exhibit or bar/lounge space. Disney has yet to make any announcement on the project.

Terrible waste of space to put a bloody DVC lounge in there when the Canadian pavilion could use much more than that...

Old photos gave it Grand Floridian vibes, but that's at least closer to the general feel of a posh RR hotel than...rustic lodge.

Waiting to see actual photos, but to be fair the old interior design also didn’t look like the chateau Laurier either. A lot of the world showcase facades don’t match the interiors.

"The entry room is themed like a rustic Canadian lodge, complete with dark wood paneling, cozy lounge-style chairs, and even a classic train set display that ties into the atmosphere." For reference, this is what the lobby of Chateau Laurier (what EPCOT's faux hotel is based on) looks like. "rustic lodge" it is not Chateau Frontenac, what EPCOT's hotel is often assumed to be based on, has a lower ceiling in it's lobby, but not "rustic"
