The new marquee is now installed at Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin at Magic Kingdom, featuring a Space Mountain-style white spire design.
The updated signage appears nearly complete, with just the Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin text still to be added.
Space Mountain-Inspired Design
The new marquee takes on a white spire similar to Space Mountain's entrance signage. The main sign is mounted on the spire, with standby and Lightning Lane digital wait time clocks hanging beneath.
The installation follows the removal of the original signage earlier this year. Construction walls still surround the entrance area while Disney works on the updated marquee and new concrete flooring.
Refurbishment Nearing Completion
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin closed in August 2025 for a major update. The ride will reopen in spring 2026 with new scenes, redesigned vehicles, upgraded blasters, and more responsive gameplay tech.
The opening sequence has been completely reworked to introduce Buddy, a new support robot created by Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar. The hyperspace tunnel scene features new projection technology showing Buzz Lightyear and Emperor Zurg for the first time during the ride.
Ride vehicles now have Star Command styling and onboard screens displaying real-time scoring. Handheld blasters replace the original fixed versions, offering better aim with vibration, sound effects, and an always-on laser to help track your shots.
Interactive targets throughout the attraction now react and light up when hit, giving clearer feedback during gameplay.
Disney has not announced a specific reopening date beyond spring 2026.
