Disney's Blizzard Beach water park is closed today, December 12, 2024 due to cold weather in Central Florida.

With lows dipping into the low 40s and highs only reaching the low 60s, the conditions are far from ideal for water park operations.

Typhoon Lagoon, Disney's other water park, is currently closed for its annual refurbishment, leaving Walt Disney World without an open water park early this week.

Blizzard Beach is expected to reopen on Friday, December 13, from 10 am to 5 pm.

Next week’s forecast for LBV looks like it will be cold enough to warrant a multi-day (5-6 days, possibly more) closure of BB.

They could call it “Jollywood Nights, but without the rides!”

So much of a lost opportunity to have a themed hard-ticket event to take advantage of the blizzard theming and actual frigid conditions. Just get the extra hot chocolate and cookies from the Christmas party, add an exclusive limited time popcorn bucket, and some $30 cupcakes, then slap a $200 per person price tag on it, and they'll practically be printing money!

If there was any chance Orlando would get snow, none of the local weathermen would shut up about it. I haven't seen anything on any of the network affiliates here that was suggest it's likely or even possible.
