Disney has announced to Cast Members today that previews of the new "Disney Dreams That Soar" show will take place early in the morning on May 22, 2024.

The Cast member preview will take place two days before the May 25 official debut.

"Disney Dreams That Soar" is a summertime experience that will be a late-night perk for visitors. Taking place over the Disney Springs lake, "Disney Dreams That Soar," will showcase Disney stories celebrating the joy of flight with state-of-the-art drones choreographed to create designs in the sky and paired with a "soaring" musical score and memorable movie quotes. "Disney Dreams That Soar" will run nightly from May 24 through September 2, 2024.

Disney began testing drones at Disney Springs earlier this year, following their popularity in Disneyland Paris with recent offerings, including "Disney Electrical Sky Parade," which uses 500 drones to recreate moments from the classic Disney Main Street Electrical Parade.

Disney has long been developing drones for shows in the parks, with both EPCOT and Magic Kingdom strongly linked with their use. News of Disney developing drone technology for use in nighttime spectaculars surfaced in late 2014 with the filing of various patents relating to their Flixel system that used drones to carry a projection surface.

Walt Disney World has previously hosted a limited-time drone show, Starbright Holidays, at Disney Springs for the 2016 holiday season in association with Intel and its Shooting Star drone product. The 5-minute show featured 300 drones, intricately choreographed in 3D space over the Disney Springs lake and synchronized to holiday music.

Just curious but how is the drone show from the roof of the parking lots?

Yep and they operated right on the limit last Friday night with 18mph gusts.

Funny enough they can withstand more wind than Disneyland's fireworks. The ones in springs are modified parrot anifi drones which can resist winds up to 31 mph but with multiple drones being crammed next to each other it gets reduced to 18mph max wind.

Disney probably shouldn’t invest too much into Drone only shows for the parks. Drones are unreliable with even the slightest wind the show gets canceled. It’s fine if the have a B mode or have it as a secondary show.

Maybe they could build a large platform/dock/barge on the water for them to take off and land on where they never fly over guest areas perhaps.

Well they sure flock on, anyone with a stroller using running on people as a weapon. Any chance you defend yourself from your feet instead of the husband apologizing you got the wife muttering cutting your talk off telling you your at Disney!

I think there is a pretty strong desire to have drones in MK as part of a nighttime spectacular, but currently there are more pressing issues.

Are Drones in MK even a a possibility? Or should we drop the idea of MK Drones.

MK daily firework show isn't the immediate priority, so I would expect to see other things before any possible changes there.
