23 December 2007: Details of this years Magic Kingdom New Year Eve firework show This years Magic Kingdom new Year's Eve show is set to be one of the biggest and loudest ever at the Magic Kingdom. It features all new firework design by Walt Disney World's Brad Cicotti, who has designed Magic, Music, and Mayhem, the Peace on Earth tag to Reflections of Earth, Epcot's 25th birthday tag, and the 4th and New Year's Eve shows at Epcot. This years show will feature a full 360 degree perimeter firework display, including fireworks launched from the island in the Seven seas lagoon. Each perimeter location around the park will be firing 50 shells - the largest ever for a Magic Kingdom show. 27 July 2007: Additional New Years Eve show performance This year there will be an additional New Years Eve show, in addition to the already scheduled 2 nights of December 30th and December 31st. This means there will now be 3 opportunities to see the incredible show - the 29th, 30th and 31st December. On those nights, the Wishes showtime has been moved to 8:30pm, in preparation for New Years Eve Special Edition Fantasy In The Sky at 11:50pm. 27 July 2007: Holiday Wishes schedule The special Holiday Wishes (with perimeter fireworks) is set to run as normal on Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party nights (Nov. 12, 15, 16, 25, 27, 29, 30 and Dec. 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 18, 20, 21. However, from Dec 22 - 31, the Holiday Wishes version will play instead of the regular Wishes show for non-party nights (still to be confirmed if it will be without perimeter fireworks as last year). 22 June 2007: July 4 Fantasy in the Sky details The Magic Kingdom July 4 firework show will again be performing two July 4 shows this year, on the 3rd July and the 4th July. It will feature the full 360 degree pyro effects, fired from the 9 locations around the park. This year is also set to be the last showing of the current July 4 show, next year will feature a new soundtrack and new pyro design. 8 November 2006: Holiday Wishes schedule The special Holiday Wishes (with 180 degree perimeter fireworks) is set to run as normal on Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party nights (Nov 13, 17, 27, 28, 30 Dec 1, 4, 5, 7, 8, 11, 12 ,14, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22). However, from Dec 23 - 31, the Holiday Wishes (without the perimeter fireworks) version will play instead of the regular Wishes show for non-party nights. 22 October 2006: Changes to the special edition Wishes perimeter fireworks On special event nights, the Magic Kingdom has previously used nine additional firing locations to create a 360 degree perimeter firework effect, surrounding the entire park with fireworks. Whilst creating a spectacular effect, the downside has been that transportation around the park has had to be halted before, during, and after the show for safety purposes, and to allow the pyro to be position around the railroad track. To allow some transportation to continue, and to minimise the disruption, the Magic Kingdom will now be firing a 180 degree perimeter effect on special nights, instead of the 360 degree effect. However, it's important to note that the amount of pyro will not be reduced, the nine firing locations will now be compacted into a 180 degree arc, instead of the 360 degree. This means the same amount of pyro as before, but in a smaller space, so it should prove to be a spectacular site. As always, things are subject to changes, but this is the current plan:
16 October 2006: HalloWishes to be shown every night for the rest of October The Magic Kingdom will be running the special Halloween edition of Wishes, called HalloWishes every night for the rest of October from the 15th onwards. Note, that the additional perimeter fireworks will only be shown on Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. Previously, the show has only been performed on Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. 17 November 2005: Holiday Wishes
20 September 2005: HalloWishes rehersals There will be rehearsal guest performances of HalloWishes (minus the perimeter fireworks) on the 26th and 28th September, ready for the full show to debut on 30th September. 8 August 2005: Happy HalloWishes A special Halloween-themed edition of Wishes will debut this year at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party -- "Happy HalloWishes" -- featuring spooky music from family-friendly Disney attractions and movies including Haunted Mansion and The Nightmare Before Christmas, as well as the voices of memorable Disney characters such as Madame Leota, Ursula, Jafar, Maleficent and Oogie Boogie. 3 June 2005: Special edition Wishes shows For the upcoming Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney will unveil all new special edition versions of the Wishes firework show. Disney is once again calling on Steven Davison and Eric Tucker, the award winning pyro-technician who has previously worked on Reflections of Earth and Wishes, to design the pyrotechnics displays for the new shows. The special editions will also feature new musical tracks. 4 April 2005: Wishes from the MK Ferry Boat

5 August 2003: Magical Gatherings Al Weiss yesterday confirmed that a new 15 month celebration will begin in October, titled, "Magical Gatherings". It will focus on the magic of reconnecting with family and friends. Most significantly, he confirmed the new Magic Kingdom night time spectacular, called "Wishes". Details of the Wishes show can be found in the 28 April 2003 and 7 February 2003 updates below. 28 April 2003: MK Fireworks Show Update Further to the 7 February 2003 update below, rumors inside MK indicate that the new firework show has been given final approval. The preliminary name of the show is "Wishes", and will feature narration by Jiminy Cricket, and an all new musical score. As witnessed by the testing a few months back, there will be brand new pyro effects, never before used, and 8 new launch locations. Finally, more good news... 7 February 2003: New Firework show! There is a very good chance that a major new nighttime firework show will be showing at the Magic Kingdom in December 2003. Lots of new effects have been recently tested in the park after hours, such as shooting fireworks off of the castle, railroad tracks, buildings in fantasyland, new low level fireworks near the crowd, and all around the perimeter of the park. It has great new music that sounds like a combo of Fantasmic and Illuminations. There is a possible tie in with the "Magical Reunions" promotion that starts during the fall.
