2 March 2000: Rehab Update (thanks Steve)

Ok, as for the crane behind the Tower of Terror, it is just the long process of painting the building.  It takes about 6 months to paint!  They have 2 cranes.  One small, one large that people go up in and hand paint the building.  The back was done with spray paint machines.  The front which has the most detail has to be hand painted.  The front is worked on in the early parts of the day, prior to the park opening.  Once the park opens then they work on the sides of the building.

Now, also between Tower of Terror and Rock n' Roller Coaster is a crane that is erecting a tent for the High School (and younger) Cheerleading competitions.  Since Epic Theater is going under rehab and that is where they usually hold the competitions, the Cheerleading has been moved to between RR Coaster and ToT.  Boy is that area going to be swarming with crazy kids!!! :->  I believe the competitions start on the 13th of March.

The Tower is currently being repainted, (November 1999), but remains open.
Thanks to Sam Shirley for the pictures.
