Disney will be closing its three Children's Activity Centers located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts.

Existing reservations are being honored at Simba's Cubhouse at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Sandcastle Club at Disney Beach Club Resort, and Lilo's Playhouse at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. July 31 2018 will be the final day of operation.

A decline in the center's usage by guests is the driver behind the closures.

Independent childcare provider Kid's Nite Out will continue to offer babysitting. To contact Kid's Nite Out, please call (407) 828-0920, 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, 7 days a week. Pricing is from $18 per hour.

Yeah, it would be a pain to go from YC/BC/BW to the Contemporary just to drop the kids off. Wasn’t there a kids club at the Swan? I wonder if that books quickly.

Not everyone, but some especially if being utilized for a wedding and reception or Disney after hours. Or if you have a kid like mine that specifically requests “Don’t pick me up until the end!” The Sandcastle Club at Beach Club during food and wine is very popular and books up quickly. I wonder if Disney will reopen the children’s activity center there seasonally during F&W.

Do you think a lot of people had their kids stay from open to close? That’s a long time.

Tomorrow's Child has become today's child: And they don't need no babysitters:

What was it without the discount? This new one sounds like full on structured activities and characters. NM, just looked it up. $55 was normal price. $10 difference. 1.5 hours less if you left your kids there from 4:30-midnight.

They took the clubs away and made a new single resort kids club at Contemporary for like twice the price! 🤷🏻‍♂️

My boys loved these clubs back in the day, and we were happy to have one quiet dinner while on vacation. Now, the big question is, as of August 1st, what are they going to do with the Clubs? Options: 1. The River Country approach. Touch nothing and let them rot so that they can be discovered by 23rd century archaeologists ("We have what we believe to be a primitive child containment facility here."). 2. Convert them to timeshares. Who wouldn't want points in a space with pre-vomited carpeting ("Putting the Code V in DVC")? 3. Put in a ping pong table with Mickey-eared paddles and call it a day.

My guess is, if this is successful enough to the point that there's a demand, they'll open more of them. Not in every resort or anything, but maybe one in one of the Epcot resorts, maybe one in the DS area, strategic to places grownups might want to go but be close to their kids.

They do have in park babysitting. Just leave your kids in the park and train them to say “I’m 8-years old!” on cue when asked. The CMs will babysit for you while you go to Universal for the day!
