"If you're older and/or have any sort of walking handicap, pay the extra for a preferred room."

Triniday North and Martinique are preferred locations in Caribbean Beach. Cost of rooms there are extra, but the short walk from the rooms in either village that are closer to Old Port Royale Centertown makes the price of rooms there (on the Old Port Royale end of either village)well worth the extra cost. Assuming that you will eat one or two meals a day in the OPR food court, the amount of walking from other locations in CBR can be daunting. For Martinique, rooms in Building 26 are best. Disney normally won't guarantee a village, let alone a specific building, but if you go to WDW during the week between Thanksgiving and the week before Christmas, you may succeed in getting not only the village you name, but a room on the end nearest OPR. ASK AGAIN AT CHECK-IN.
