Major shake-up at Walt Disney Imagineering sees Bob Weis become president

Imagineering veteran Bob Weis has been promoted to the top job at Walt Disney Imagineering, taking a new role of president, Walt Disney Imagineering.

Bruce Vaughn Chief Creative Executive, who has served as the co-executive leader of WDI since 2007 with Chief Design and Project Delivery Executive Craig Russell, is leaving the company. Craig Russell has taken a new role with Project Integration.

Weiss was the creative lead on the California Adventure extreme makeover, much of Tokyo DisneySea, and Disney-MGM Studios, including the iconic Tower of Terror attraction.

Most recently, he has guided the creation of Shanghai Disneyland.

Additionally, Kathy Mangum has added Disney Cruise Line and Disneyland Paris to her creative responsibilities, in addition to her role as leading the efforts at Walt Disney World.

Disney Parks is about to begin a major push of building new attractions across all properties, and with Bob Weiss at the helm, the company has a vastly experienced creative leader spearheading the effort.
