THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MELBOURNE HAS ISSUED A

* SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR... SOUTHWESTERN LAKE COUNTY IN FLORIDA ORANGE COUNTY IN FLORIDA OSCEOLA COUNTY IN FLORIDA

* UNTIL 1000 AM EDT.

* AT 900 AM EDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL...AND DESTRUCTIVE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 35 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MASCOTTE...OR 19 MILES NORTHWEST OF WINSTON... AND MOVING RAPIDLY EAST AT 60 MPH.

* OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE...BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO...POINCIANA...CELEBRATION...
CAMPBELL...KISSIMMEE...ST CLOUD LAKE LOUISA AND THE THE THEME PARKS AREA IN SOUTHWEST ORANGE COUNTY.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH...PREPARE IMMEDIATELY FOR DAMAGING WINDS...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...AND DEADLY CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER... PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

A TORNADO WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 100 PM EDT THURSDAY AFTERNOON FOR EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA.
