The Magic Kingdom's Plaza Restaurant will be offering more walk-up availability later this summer.

Beginning July 17 2016, reservations will only be available between 11am and 12pm. For the remainder of the operating day, the restaurant will be open for walk-in guests.

The recently opened Jungle Cruise Skipper Canteen had recently been reserved for walk-up guests, but has since changed to allow advance reservations to be made. It appears that the Plaza will now be taking up the table service dining walk-up role.

If you are visiting from July 17, head to the podium outside the Plaza for availability information.

Thanks!

Anyone recently gone? What was wait like?

Thank you :)

We walked up when we were there in August for lunch. They told us 20 minutes and it was more like 5. They can text you when your table is ready, so you can wander through Main Street shops or through Tomorrowland until your table is ready.

Does anyone know how the new walkup for a table is going? Super long waits (we usually eat around 1pm)?

I'd be livid.... I hate the plan and would never use it....

danyoung56Jun 13, 2016

I agree with you - if that ever happened I'd be very upset.

The CM told us they are thinking of making one restaurant in each Park walk up/same day reservations only. The CM also said they may adjust the ADR for DDP, they may start to get priority over non-DDP individuals. Similar to the fast pass that if you're on property you get an extra 30 days. That was the quote from above... Maybe I read it totally wrong. I thought the person meant they would give priority ADR to DDP people over non-DDP. Maybe I'm confused about the post

I'm not sure what being on the DDP has to do with it. ADRs will be taken from 11am to noon, and after that it'll be walk-up only. Or do I misunderstand your question?

Hockey89Jun 13, 2016

So someone staying at the Beach club not on a DDP may get penalized? Seems crazy to me... The plans suck

aladdin2007Jun 13, 2016

only from 11 to 12 is what I read, but maybe thats what you meant and not 2.

danyoung56Jun 13, 2016

I read this morning that they will take ADRs from 11am to 2pm, and the rest of the time they'll be strictly walk-up. Is this right?
