On my most recent trip (5/2012) I did not make ADRs because my friends and I prefer to wing it and go with the flow. Well we wnated sushi and I knew I would need a reservation at the California Grill and Kona Cafe so instead we headed to Kona Island for dinner. Our waiter was great and even went and got the Chef since my friend has food allergies. The Chef was wonderful, she told us what menu items would work for us, asked what favorites we typically order when we go out for sushi taking this info and helping us figure out a delicious dinner. The only draw backs I would say would be seating or rather the lack there of and someone hadn't got to cleaning up after a previous patron.
