A small amount of construction is underway near the exit of the Great Movie Ride at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

A wall has been up for a couple of weeks, and this past week a small structure has appeared above the walls. It is located right at the exit of the ride.

The Great Movie Ride is about to receive a number of upgrades as part of a new partnership with the TCM tv channel, which should be in place by Spring 2015. A movie set photo opportunity was originally mentioned as part of the upgrades, but its location was not given. It isn't clear whether this is related, or perhaps something as simple as a new snack kiosk.

Turner Classic Movies. Channel number depends on your TV provider.

Ahhhhh, makes sense. I didnt want to be the one to break the news to you that Saturday may be just a little crowded. Just a little......

gmajewDec 17, 2015

LOL no but I won't be exhausted from a long week. Different mind set for me.

Prince-1Dec 17, 2015

Or people like me that is going Saturday night because I am to tired to fight crowds on a friday.

Perhaps because there are people who don't really care that Star Wars is coming out? Or that might care, but have no problems waiting a few weeks to see it.

I'm still wondering who the heck decided to schedule on Star Wars Night.

I though it was pretty good. The Roger Osbourne thing was a nice touch and the cast member did an excellent job.

Agreed, but even the lackluster CM's at least do a "ta-da" moment as they emerge form the smoke. This guy literally threw the cloak down and ran down the steps while the smoke was still clearing. For shame! lol

In all fairness that is as per the SOP. The rest however...

I was really hoping the TCM sponsorship would put an end to the following conversation I keep having: Me: "Hey, let's do the Great Movie Ride!" Friends and family: "Does it still do that thing where the cowboy comes out with the gun and it's all painful and cheesy?" Me: "... Yes." Friends and family: "Then absolutely never." Me: "Sigh..."
