Disney today announced that it will open Star Wars Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios on August 29 2019 in two phases.

Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will be the only attraction open on that day, with the land's signature Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance attraction to open in a second phase later in 2019. The second phase opening date has yet to be announced.

Disney said that, "In light of tremendous demand, Disney made the decision to open the land in phases to allow guests to sooner enjoy the one-of-a-kind experiences that make Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge so spectacular."

A reservation will not be offered or required to experience Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at the Walt Disney World Resort, although capacity will be limited. Additionally, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be open during Extra Magic Hours.

I agree with you on Pandora, but not that it is physically small, but really there is so little to actually do. All the paths wind around but lead to the same two places. SWGE has so much more to see and explore, even if it is relatively the same physical size. All those shops, alleys, stores, displays, side streets, will really heighten the experience. (I’m not knocking Pandora BTW... I love it.)

I think the land seems small. I thought Pandora was quite small, and from what I read SWGE isn't a whole lot bigger.

Two people need to be fired -- the person who greenlighted Andy's back yard and the person who didn't push for a whole Star Wars fifth gate.

Now Photoshop in the 1,800 people in line trying to buy popcorn in a BB-8 bucket and it'll look a bit more authentic.

With the plan of only letting people in for limited time slots, how long can they sit on there hands and not go phase 2 with this to expand and make more money on this? I just can’t see modern Disney not wanting to capitalize on this and get as many people and their money in this land.

New concept art of the Kat-Saka Kettle from Blog Mickey's site. This is where they will sell Outpost Mix popcorn. The full article link can be found below: http://blogmickey.com/2019/04/first-look-concept-art-released-for-kat-sakas-kettle-in-star-wars-galaxys-edge/

So would this be considered the fault of the RCS/ wayside computer? Or maybe it’s working as intended, and something keeps tripping it. I’m not sure which option is more serious. Hopefully they can iron it out soon. Before, when we thought MMRR was smooth sailing, I guessed that ROTR’s issues had to do with a feature unique to itself. With the word that MMRR is having issues too, I wonder if it is a ride control system engineering issue shared between both attractions.

...issues with communication shutting down the ride vehicles all the time from what I have heard. Correct me if I am wrong of course...
