The stage is set for the new Star Wars stage show coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios next week.

Star Wars A Galaxy Far, Far Away stage

Opening on April 4 2016, Star Wars - A Galaxy Far Far Away will take place on the new Centerstage in front of The Great Movie Ride.

A new low stage has been built, and work is also taking place around the viewing areas on either side of the stage - which are both currently behind construction walls.

The show will include live vignettes featuring popular Star Wars characters, such as Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Darth Maul. Showtimes of the first week will be 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm.

As far as I can tell, it is simply an addition tacked on after the Kylo scene and before the finale. They also changed the intro clips/scenes and now a camera crew films the characters live as they walk out. I believe those were the only changes.

Considering the extreme IP usage, cross branding, and push for increased security, why hasn't Iger mandated that all security will be officially handled by the WDW Stormtrooper Garrison. Then security can wear trooper uniforms and be more intimidating while pushing the IP across property. I think I'd be more concerned about a Stormtrooper with a uniform made from Kevlar and carrying a real weapon, then one of our very friendly boys in blue. :rolleyes:

A bit more info on this. You were right about the stage coming down so as not to violate the temporary permit. Mobile stage isn't coming until next year sometime, but the stage that's coming next week is supposed to have a similar style to how the mobile stage will look.

I don't know anything for certain. The old plan was to have a mobile stage that would set up in the morning for the first show and then leave after the final show of the day. Not sure if that is still the case.

Is there a new stage coming? Or is this a contract thing about the stage being "temporary" so it has to come down and go back up to not violate any rules?
