"Choose your visit time wisely..."

During the summer time, the coolest part of the day will be just as the park is opening or first thing in the morning. Most people will save Splash till the hottest part of the day, ie after lunch, to cool themselves down during that time. In order to avoid the longest wait time go to the back of frontierland as soon as the rope drops and grab a fastpass. About 9 times out of 10 you'll be able to then go right next door to Big Thunder ride it, and then use your fastpass for Splash.
"The wettest part may not be where you think"

Despite what you might think from looking at Splash Mountain, the wettest part is not the final drop. The biggest soaking comes from just before the second lift when a water cannon fires as another log comes down the final drop.

If you can time it right, you can get some great views of SpectroMagic and Wishes from some of the higher parts of Splash Mountain.
